Stoning to death

Praise be to Allaah, I am making this article so that it will clear the misconceptions regarding Stoning to death, Let us see the hadith

The Hadeeth

a). Sahih Bukhari

Bukhari Volume 7, Book 63, Number 195:
Narrated Jabir:

A man from the tribe of Bani Aslam(Maaiz) came to the Prophet while he was in the mosque and said, “I have committed illegal sexual intercourse.” The Prophet turned his face to the other side. The man turned towards the side towards which the Prophet had turned his face, and gave four witnesses against himself. On that the Prophet called him and said, “Are you insane?” (He added), “Are you married?” The man said, ‘Yes.” On that the Prophet ordered him to be stoned to the death in the Musalla (a praying place). When the stones hit him with their sharp edges and he fled, but he was caught at Al-Harra and then killed

b) Sahih Muslim
In Saheeh Muslim
Sahaba says “We took him(Maa`iz) to the Baqi’ al-Gharqad (the graveyard of Medina). We neither tied him nor dug any ditch for him.” [Sahih Muslim Book #017, Hadith #4202]

c). Abu Dawud

Another Hadith says “They then went to the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) and reported it(His running while stoning) to him. He said: Why did you not leave him alone. Perhaps he might have repented and been forgiven by Allah.(Abu Dawud Book #38, Hadith #4405 Authenticated by Shaykh AlBani in “Erwa al Ghulail hadith no: 2322 Vol 7 page 358”).

  • a) Imam An Nawawi said
Imam Ash Shafiee and Ahmad and Others says that If he is agreeing that he did zina(after marriage) and if he is running while stoning, immediately he should be left alone..., Malik says in one of the narration that he should not be left alone and should be killed, Imam Ash Shafiee made the evidence from the narration of Sunan Abu Dawood where Prophet peace be uponhim said “Why did you not leave him alone until Allah look into him  “ and the narrations “”Why did you not leave him alone. Perhaps he might have repented and been forgiven by Allah”[Sharah an Nawawy, Book of Hudood Chapter on HE WHO CONFESSES HIS GUILT OF ADULTERY]
  • b) Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar said:

It may be understood from this case the case of Maaiz when he confessed to having committed zina that it is mustahabb for the one who falls into a similar sin to repent to Allaah and conceal his sin and not mention it to anyone, as Abu Bakr and Umar said to Maaiz. Whoever discovers anything of that nature should conceal it according to what we have mentioned; he should not expose it or refer the matter to the ruler, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said in this story: If you had concealed it with your garment it would have been better for you. Hence al-Shaafai (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: If a person commits a sin and Allaah conceals it for him, I prefer for him to conceal it too and to repent, and he quoted as evidence the story of Maaiz with Abu Bakr and Umar.[Fath al-Baari, 12/124, 125]

  •  c) Shaykh Muhammad Dawud Raz mentioned
Another hadith says when Prophet peace be upon him heard that he ran away, he(peace be upon him) said “Why did you not leave him alone. Perhaps he might have repented and been forgiven by Allah”. This is the saying of Imam Shafiee and Ahlul hadeeth that If he is agreeing that he did zina(after marriage) and if he is running while stoning, immediately he should be left alone (end)[Commentary of Sahih Bukhari by Muhammad Dawud Raz checked by Shaykh Abds Salam Bastawi and Shaykh Abdul Jabbar Salafi Vol 7 page 51]

  • a) Islam qa fatwa no: 47924 says

The expiation for committing zina with a married woman or any other is sincere repentance that fulfils all the conditions of repentance. That involves giving up the sin completely, regretting what one has done and resolving never to go back to it. Whoever does that has repented to Allaah, and whoever repents, Allaah will accept his repentance and turn his bad deeds into good deeds, as Allaah says:

Know they not that Allaah accepts repentance from His slaves and takes the Sadaqaat (alms, charity), and that Allaah Alone is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful?[al-Tawbah 9:104]

Allah says
68. And those who invoke not any other ilaah (god) along with Allaah, nor kill such person as Allaah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse and whoever does this shall receive the punishment.
69. The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace;
70. Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds; for those, Allaah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allaah is Oft?Forgiving, Most Merciful[al-Furqaan 25:68-70]

Al-Bukhaari (4436) and Muslim (174) narrated from Ibn Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that some people from among the mushrikeen who had killed and killed a great deal, and committed zina and done it a great deal came to Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: What you are saying and calling us to is good, if only you could tell us that there is any expiation for what we have done. Then the words And those who invoke not any other ilaah (god) along with Allaah, nor kill such person as Allaah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse [al-Furqaan 25:68] and Say: O Ibaadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allaah [al-Zumar 39:52] were revealed. (end)

Whoever falls into zina must hasten to repent to Allaah and conceal himself with His concealment, and not disclose what he has done, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

Avoid this filthy thing that Allaah has forbidden, and whoever commits any sin of that nature let him conceal himself with the concealment of Allaah. Narrated by al-Bayhaqi and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-al-Saheehah, 663

Muslim (2590) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Allaah does not cover any slave in this world but Allaah will also cover him on the Day of Resurrection. (end quote from fatwa of Islam qa)

May the peace, mercy and blessing of Allah be upon you.

I wrote to you before and told you my story…I am a married woman who fell into a great sin, meaning the sin of adultery. I don’t know if the reasons behind it are enough to make up for what I did, but I don’t want to find an excuse for myself and let myself off the hook. My husband travelled abroad and left me with three children, the oldest of which is nine years old. He [their father] is now in America.

I begged him to let us stay together, but he refused and forced the situation on me. He has never, since I first met him, given my opinion any consideration. He used to treat me like I was too insignificant to make any decision. From that point on, he always made me feel hopeless, even though I served him like a slave in everything. I searched for what I wanted from him in someone else. I went back to an old relationship, and I found in it the worldly warmth and compassion of lost love and the loving home I did not find anywhere else. I got physical with him, we reached this devastating point, and now I am in despair. I feel so far from Allah’s Mercy. Could Allah ever accept my repentance? And do I have to receive the hadd punishment (stoning) for my repentance to be accepted? What about my husband? Can I keep this secret from him for the rest of my life? Can I continue my life with him as though nothing ever happened? Please, I would like convincing replies to my questions. Note that my husband has not come back yet and he insists that we not go with him, even though he would be capable of that because we’ve already gotten green cards to travel to America. I’ve thought a lot about traveling without his permission, which would be much less worse than continuing with this insanity. My faith is weak, and I feel that my inability to leave this boyfriend is the price for what I have done.

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful,

All praise is due to Allah, and may peace and blessing be upon the Messenger of Allah, upon his household, his companions and those who have followed him. To proceed:

We have mentioned before that zina (unlawful sexual intercourse) is a heinous crime, and it is even more destructive and evil when committed by a married woman. Zina does not co-exist with faith, for the adulterer is not a believer at the time of committing adultery [as per the hadith]. Indeed, the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) saw the punishment of those who commit zina in the Hereafter. He found them gathered naked in an oven, the top of which is narrow and the bottom of which is wide. So, the matter is extremely serious. While the circumstances you mention may explain what happened, they do not justify it in any way, shape or form. There is no way out of this trial, except through repentancetrue, immediate, sincere repentanceand one of the requirements of true, complete repentance is that you leave the land where the sin was committed. Staying in this place entices you to this obscene act and tempts you to keep doing it, and that is suicide itself!

I think you should continue to plead with your husband to send for you to live near him, but do not tell him anything that happened. Keep this devastating scandal a secret, for the rule concerning anyone suffering with any of these dirty secrets is to conceal it with the cover Allah has provided, for the people will disgrace you, but they will not change you, while Allah will change you and not disgrace you. If Allah opens his heart to this, start a new, clean life with him, and be frequent in doing good deeds and acts of worship when you are alone. Wash away the traces of these mistakes with the tears of repentance, but do not lose hope in Allah’s Mercy in the end, for Allah accepts repentance from His slaves and pardons all sins.

My sin loomed large, but when I compared it
To Your forgiveness, my Lord, Your forgiveness was still greater.

And Allah Almighty is the Most High, and He knows best. (Source of Fatwa: )

  • c) Shaykh Muhammad Salih al Munajjid said

1) Do not despair, for Allaah the Most Exalted and Glorified said (interpretation of the meaning): “Say: Oh my servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the mercy of Allaah, for Allaah forgives all sins; for He is oft-forgiving, most merciful.” [Surah 39,Verse 53]

2) Let your repentance be truly from your heart, and stay away from all sources of temptations. Also, perform many good deeds, as good deeds abrogate the bad ones.

3) If you repent to Allah, you are no longer described as a fornicator (zaani). Therefore, you can marry a chaste woman.

4) The believer has high hope and aspiration for the best from Allaah. He not only asks Allah for making his punishment easy in hellfire, but he also prays to God the Almighty to save him from Hell and award him with paradise for his repentance and good deeds.[Islam QA Fatwa no: 624]
  • d)Repentance
Hadith says: Anas [May Allah be pleased with him narrates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Allah says: O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you and I would not mind. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it. (classed as hasan by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami, 4338)

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

It was said to al-Hasan al-Basri: One of us feels too shy before his Lord to ask forgiveness for his sin then go back to it, then ask forgiveness then go back (to his sin)? He said: The shaytaan wishes that he could achieve that with you. Do not tire of seeking forgiveness.

And it was narrated that he said: I think that this is the attitude of the believers i.e., every time a believer sins, he repents.[Jaami al-Uloom wal-Hukam (1/165).]

1. First thing to note is that No one should do zina it is one of the biggest sin.
2. If he did he should not tell anyone and he should repent Insha`Allah Allah will forgive him.
3. If he agrees in front of Judge that he did zina after marriage then
the hud Punishment (Stoning to death) should be imposed on him because husband betraying wife or wife betraying husband is the most grave sin after shirk and killing a soul.and if he fled he should be left alone maybe he is going to repent and Allah will forgive him.

Prohibition Celebrating Kuffar Festivals like Christmas

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabaraktahu Smile

It is not permissible for the Muslim to join the kuffaar in their festivals and to express joy and happiness on these occasions, or to take the day off work, whether the occasion is religious or secular, because this is a kind of imitating the enemies of Allaah, which is forbidden, and a kind of co-operating with them in falsehood. It was proven that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
Whoever imitates a people is one of them. And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

Help you one another in Al?Birr and At?Taqwa (virtue,  righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is Severe in punishment[al-Maa’idah 5:2]

It is well known that  the Muslims do not have any festival apart from Eid al-Fitr and Eid  al-Adha, and the weekly Eid which is Friday (Yawm al-Jumuah).  Celebrating any other festival is not allowed and is either of two things:  either it is an innovation (bidah), if it is celebrated as a means of  drawing close to Allah, such as celebrating the Prophets Birthday  (Mawlid); or it is an imitation of the kuffaar, if it is celebrated as a
tradition and not as an act of worship, because introducing innovated festivals is the action of the people of the Book who we are commanded to
differ from.

Greeting the kuffaar on Christmas and other religious holidays of theirs is haraam, by consensus, as Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy on him, said in Ahkaam Ahl al-Dhimmah: “Congratulating the kuffaar on the rituals that belong only to them is haraam by consensus, as is congratulating them on their festivals and fasts by saying A happy festival to you or May you enjoy your festival, and so on. If the one who says this has been saved from kufr, it is still forbidden. It is like congratulating someone for prostrating to the cross, or even worse than that. It is as great a sin as congratulating someone for drinking wine, or murdering someone, or having illicit sexual relations, and so on. Many of those who have no respect for their religion fall into this error; they do not realize the offensiveness of their actions. Whoever congratulates a person for his disobedience or bidah or kufr exposes himself to the wrath and anger of Allaah.”

Congratulating the kuffaar on their religious festivals is haraam to the extent described by Ibn al-Qayyim because it implies that one accepts or approves of their rituals of kufr, even if one would not accept those things for oneself. But the Muslim should not aceept the rituals of kufr or congratulate anyone else for them, because Allaah does not accept any of that at all, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

If you disbelieve, then verily, Allaah is not in need of you, He likes not disbelief for His slaves. And if you are grateful (by being believers), He is pleased therewith for you. . .” [al-Zumar 39:7]

This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islaam as your religion . . .”
[al-Maaidah 5:3]

So congratulating them is forbidden, whether they are ones colleagues at work or otherwise.

If they greet us on the occasion of their festivals, we should not respond, because these are not our festivals, and because they are not festivals which are acceptable to Allaah. These festivals are innovations in their religions, and even those which may have been prescribed formerly have been abrogated by the religion of Islaam, with which Allaah sent Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to the whole of mankind. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Whoever seeks a religion other than Islaam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.” [Aal Imraan 3:85]

It is haraam for a Muslim to accept invitations on such occasions, because this is worse than congratulating them as it implies taking part in their celebrations.

Similarly, Muslims are forbidden to imitate the kuffaar by having parties on such occasions, or exchanging gifts, or giving out sweets or food, or taking time off work, etc., because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyah said in his book Iqtidaa al-siraat al-mustaqeem mukhaalifat ashaab al-jaheem: “Imitating them in some of their festivals implies that one is pleased with their false beliefs and practices, and gives them the hope that they may have the opportunity to humiliate and mislead the weak.”

Whoever does anything of this sort is a sinner, whether he does it out of politeness or to be friendly, or because he is too shy to refuse, or for whatever other reason, because this is hypocrisy in Islaam, and because it makes the kuffaar feel proud of their religion.

Allaah is the One Whom we ask to make the Muslims feel proud of their religion, to help them adhere steadfastly to it, and to make them victorious over their enemies, for He is the Strong and Omnipotent.

The word Christmas is derived from the Old English Cristes maesse, “Christ’s Mass.” :

( There is no certain tradition of the date of Christ’s birth. Christian chronographers of the 3rd century believed that the creation of the world took place at the spring equinox, then reckoned as March 25; hence the new creation in the incarnation (i.e., the conception) and death of Christ must therefore have occurred on the same day, with his birth following nine months later at the winter solstice, December 25).

According to a Roman almanac, the Christian festival of Christmas was celebrated in Rome by AD 336…

( The reason why Christmas came to be celebrated on December 25 remains uncertain, but most probably the reason is that early Christians wished the date to coincide with the pagan Roman festival marking the “birthday of the unconquered sun” ) (natalis solis invicti); this festival celebrated the winter solstice, when the days again begin to lengthen and the sun begins to climb higher in the sky. The traditional customs connected with Christmas have accordingly developed from several sources as a result of the coincidence of the celebration of the birth of Christ with the pagan agricultural and solar observances at midwinter.

In the Roman world the Saturnalia (December 17) was a time of merrymaking and exchange of gifts. December 25 was also regarded as the birth date of the Iranian mystery god Mithra, the Sun of Righteousness. On the Roman New Year (January 1), houses were decorated with greenery and lights, and gifts were given to children and the poor. Food and good fellowship, the Yule log and Yule cakes, greenery and fir trees, and gifts and greetings all commemorated different aspects of this festive season. Fires and lights, symbols of warmth and lasting life, have always been associated with the winter festival, both pagan and Christian. Since the European Middle Ages, evergreens, as symbols of survival, have been associated with Christmas…

So as any rational person can see, there is no sound basis for Christmas, nor did Jesus (peace be upon him) or his true followers celebrate Christmas or ask anyone to celebrate Christmas, nor was there any record of anyone calling themselves Christians celebrating Christmas until several hundred years after Jesus. So were the companions of Jesus more righteously guided in not celebrating Christmas or are the people of today?

So if you want to respect Jesus, peace be upon him, as Muslims do, don’t celebrate some fabricated event that was chosen to coincide with pagan festivals and copy pagan customs. Do you honestly think God, or even Jesus himself, would approve or condemn such a thing? If you say approve, then obviously you are not interested in the truth.

We ask Allaah, the One, Singular God, with no partners or sons, the God of all creation and mankind, to guide us all to the path of guidance and sincerity.

Rare Recitals of the Qur’an & the Lies of Orientalists

(An Excerpt from Mufti Taqi Usmanis Ulum-ul-Quran)

Translation by Dr. Muhammad Swaleh Siddiqui published under the title An Approach to Quranic Sciences, Darul Ishaat Karachi 2000.

Transcription in e-format and correction of mistakes in the translation by Waqar Akbar Cheema

Some Orientalists are making a mountain out of a molehill through false assumptions on the basis of rare recitals of the Quran. Particularly Goldziher and Jeffery have quoted several examples of these recitals and have drawn self-conceived inferences from them.[1] In these pages it is not possible to present all those examples and expose the reality about them. For this task a whole book will be required.[2] Also we feel that it this would be unnecessary. However, we wish to mention some fundamental facts about the rare recitals, and we do hope that with these in view the readers will understand the rejection of the false assumptions of these Orientalists that they have made on the basis of rare recitals.

We have stated earlier that Muslims are united on their understanding that only such recitals of the Quran are reliable that fulfill three conditions, namely

1. The Particular recitals can be incorporated in Uthmani script.

2. It should confirm to the rules of the Arabic Grammar.

3. It must have proof of the authentic uninterrupted transmission from the Holy Prophet (saw), or at least it must be popular among the scholars of Recitals.

Any Recitals lacking even one of these three conditions is termed Rare Recital and no one in the entire Ummah took it as reliable. A close look on Rare Recitals reveals that one or more of the following defects are present in them.

1. Sometimes that recital is totally innovated, just as recitals of Abdul Fadl Muhammad bin Jafar KhuzaI that he has attributed to Imam Abu Hanifa. Darqutni and all other scholars have exposed them and declared that they are all innovated.[3]

2. Sometimes they have very weak precedents, just like the recitals of Ibn -us-Samifa and Abdus Samal or many of those recitals which Ibn Abi Dawud has attributed to different Companions and their followers in his Kitab-ul-Masahif.[4]

3. Sometimes precedent is correct but infact it is not the recitals of the Quran, but a Companions or his follower added one or more words during ordinary discourse as an explanation to some word of the Quran. Since Quran in its entire substance was uninterrupted and thousands of Huffaz were present in every period of time, there was no danger of actual addition in the original text due to additions of explanatory words.[5] Hence, such explanations were not considered objectionable. For example, it is reported[6] that Saad bin Abi Waqqas read a verse (4:12) as;

??? ?? ?? ??? ?? ??

Here the words ?? ?? were an explanatory addition. Similarly it is reported[7] that Sayyidina Uthman read a verse (3:104) like this;

????? ???? ??? ????? ??? ????? ??????? ???????? ?????? ?? ?????? ? ????????? ???? ??? ?? ?????? ?????? ?? ????????

In this the phrase; ????????? ???? ??? ?? ?????? is exegetical addition because if it had been part of the Quran in ‘Uthmans recital, it must have been present in the transcriptions compiled by him. But this phrase is not to be found in any of his seven transcriptions.

There are many such examples found in Rare Recitals.

4. Sometimes it happened that certain recitals were abrogated in the last days of the Prophets life but some Companion who had already memorized it remained unaware of this act, hence he continued to recite it as he had learnt.[8] Because the other Companions knew that this had been abrogated they did not recite it not did they consider it to be correct recital anymore.

5. It appears from some Rare Recitals that probably some follower of Companions made a mistake in the recitation of the Quran quite unintentionally (as sometimes happens even with eminent Huffaz) and listener reported it as he had heard.[9]

Whatever Rare Recitals of the Quran have been reported; most come under one of the above five situations. Obviously, no question arises for accepting these Recitals as reliable. Consequently, the Ummah never relied on them in any age. That is why these recitals could not even become popular, nothing to say of their being uninterrupted. Hence the inferences drawn by the Orientalists on the basis of Rare Recitals that (God Forbid) differences exist in the text of the Quran, is such an unfounded and absurd idea that it deserves no consideration at all from scientific and research point of view. And Allah knows the best!

Sam Shamoun in his article on alleged variants in the Quran has raised the issue of Ubayys so-called different reading of Quran 33:6.

In Quran we read the verse as;

The Prophet is closer to the Believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers … (33:6)

Yet there are some reports that Ubay bin Kab (RA), a companion of the Prophet (PBUH), used to recite the verse as;

“The prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves, and he is a father to them, and his wives are their mothers.”

Clearly the underlined words are an addition to the established reading.

The Truth:

In an earlier post (can be seen here discussing the reality of rare recitals of the Quran we learnt that;

Sometimes it happened that certain recitals were abrogated in the last days of the Prophets life but some Companion who had already memorized it remained unaware of this act, hence he continued to recite it as he had learnt. Because the other Companions knew that this had been abrogated they did not recite it not did they consider it to be correct recital anymore.

We have evidence that same happened in the case under consideration.

1- The additional words were abrogated:

?? ??? ???? ??????? ?? ????? ???: ??? ????? ??? ????? ?????????? ??????? ???????????????? ???? ???????????? ????????????? ?????????????? ???: ??? ?????: ??? ?????? ??? ???? ???? ????: “??? ????? ????? ??????? ???? ????????” ??? ?????: ??? ??????? ??????: ?????? ??????????? ???? ??????????? ?????? ??? ??????.

Abu Musa reported that Hassan (RA) recited this verse as; The Prophet is closer to the Believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers. He reported that Hassan quoted the Prophet (PBUH) to have said, I am closer to every believer than his own self. Hassan said; in the initial recital [the verse was], closer to the believers than their own selves, and he is a father to them. (Tafsir Ibn Jarir Al-Tabari 20/209)

?? ????? ??? ???? ??? ??? : ??? ?? ????? ????? ????? ???? ????????? ?? ?????? ??? ?? ???

It is reported from Ikrama that he said, In the earlier recital [it was]; The prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves, and he is a father to them. (Durr Manthur 8/127 Cf. Ibn Abi Hatim)

There two reports are adequate evidence that it was well known to early Muslims that the additional words have been abrogated and they were remembered only as such and no more as part of the actual text.

2- Other companions knew the lapse on the part of Ubayy:

Further we do have solid references to prove that other companions got that Ubayy (RA) just had a lapse of mind on this issue.

?? ????? ??????? ? ??? : ??? ??? ?? ?????? ????? ?? ??? ???? ?? ??? : ????? ???? ????????? ?? ?????? ??? ?? ??? ??????? ??????? ? ???? : ?????? ?? ???? ? ???? : ????? ?? ????? ? ??? ?? ???? ??? ?? ??? ?????? ??? ??? ??? ?? ??? ? ???? : ????? ?????? ? ????? ????? ????????

It is reported from Bajala Al-Tamimi: Umar found a Mushaf (manuscript) with a boy wherein it was written, the prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves, and he is a father to them, and his wives are their mothers. He said, Erase it O boy! The boy replied, By Allah I will not erase it and it is so in theMushaf of Ubayy bin Kab. So Umar went to Ubayy bin Kab. [According to one narration he raised his voice unto him] Ubayy replied; [Occupation with] Quran causes me the lapse as you are caused a lapse by the noise in the markets … (Ibn Hajrs Matalib Al-Aaliya Hadith 3777. Ibn Hajr classified it as Sahih)

Same narration is found in Tafsir Abdul Razzaq Al-Sanai 5/275 Hadith 2238 and Kanzul Ummal 2/569 Hadith 4746.

This is also supported by the following narration in Sahih Bukhari;

???? ????? ???????? ????? ????? ?????? ?????? ??????? ?????? ??????????? ??????? ???????????? ??????? ???????? ???????? ???? ?????? ??????? ??????? ????? ???????? ??????? ??? ?????? ??????? ?????????? ???? ??????? ??????? ?????? ??????? ???????? ????????? ?????? ????? ??????? ???????? ??? ???????? ???? ????? ???? ?????????

Narrated Ibn Abbas: Umar said, “Our best Qur’an reciter is Ubayy and our best judge is ‘Ali; and in spite of this, we leave some of the statements of Ubayy because Ubayy says, ‘I do not leave anything that I have heard from Allah’s Messenger while Allah said: Whatever verse (Revelations) do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten … (2.106) (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 4121)

Thus proved that Ubayy (RA) was known for his lapses in forgetting that some revelations were abrogated and the same happened in case of the additional words in Quran 33:6.

3- Ubayy agreed to the established reading:

Similarly there is clear proof that Ubai (RA) agreed to the established reading without these words. The evidence is twofold;

a- On Umars (RA) inquiry Ubayy (RA) agreed that it was a lapse, albeit due to his being much occupied with remembering Quran, but lapse still.

b- We know that Ubayy (RA) was part of the twelve member committee appointed to oversee the standardization of the Quranic recitals, doing away with personal errors. See Ibn Abi Dawuds Al-Masahif Hadith 72

Had he any different opinion and evidence for it he must have argued and got the words into the standard text. While we do not find them in the manuscripts standardized under him we must conclude he was by then at par with other companions on this issue. Indeed the incident of Umar (RA) coming to him took place much before this.

4- Can these words be referred to as ‘Variants’?

Having known all the above facts, can we call these words as variants? Not really! Because the Author himself asked for the words to be dropped and as soon as people came to knew about these words being abrogated they gave them up. ‘Umar (RA) and other companions learnt about their being abrogated earlier so they stopped reciting them, Ubay (RA) learnt it somewhat later and then agreed to what was established. Hence there is no confusion and all the hue and cry of orientalists is just absurdity at its best!

One can observe that there could be no reason for Muslims to reject or insist on the inclusion of these words in the Qur’an for these words had absolutely no significance as far as essentials of Islamic belief system are concerned.

On the contrary we have some interesting examples of variants from the Bible with great significance regarding the controversies among early Christians.

An example is Luke 3: 22:

In the widely current version it reads;

“And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.”

While we know that there is another reading of the same in which italicized words are replaced with;

“Today I have begotten thee.”

See footnote to Luke 3: 22 The Oxford Annotated Bible R.S.V. 1952 pub. Oxford University Press, New York 1962.

The editors clearly write before giving this reading; ‘Other ancient authorities read …’

This uncommon reading is supported by the words of St. Paul as recorded in Hebrews 1: 5and 5: 5.

Now the significance of this variant reading becomes evident when we read about a sect called Adoptionists who held that Jesus (PBUH) was adopted as a son by God at the eve of his Baptism. And this is precisely what Luke 3: 22, Hebrews 1: 5 and 5: 5 refer to.

It seems that the uncommon reading was purposefully suppressed to do away with an evidence of Adoptionist views from the Gospels at least!

So Christian fellows are requested to please carry out an analysis of their own scriptures before worrying about the Holy Qur’an -the Last and Final Testament of God for mankind!

“But Allah has endured the Faith to you and has beautified it in your hearts and has made disbelief, wickedness and disobedience hateful to you. These are the rightly guided ones.” [Soorah Hujurat (49): 7]
Eeman is explicitly described in the famous hadeeth of Jibreel (alaihis-salaam), when he (alaihis-salaam) asked the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam): “What is Eeman?” He (sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam) replied: “Eeman is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day and to believe in the Predestination; the good and the bad.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee and Saheeh Muslim]

Ruling on celebrating Ashoora or taking as day of mourning

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabaraktahu Smile

What is the ruling on what people do on the day of Aashooraa, such as wearing kohl, taking a bath (ghusl), using henna, shaking hands with one another, cooking grains (huboob), showing their happiness and so on? Has any saheeh hadeeth to that effect been narrated from the Prophet peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) or not? If there is no saheeh hadeeth to that effect, does doing these things constitute bidah, or not? What about the things that the other people do, such as mourning, grieving, going without anything to drink, eulogizing, wailing, rending their garments, etc.? Is there any basis for that or not?

Praise be to Allaah.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked this question and he replied as follows:

Praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the Worlds. Nothing to that effect has been reported in any saheeh hadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) or from his Companions. None of the imaams of the Muslims encouraged or recommended such things, neither the four imaams, nor any others. No reliable scholars have narrated anything like this, neither from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), nor from the Sahaabah, nor from the Taabieen; neither in any saheeh report or in a daeef (weak) report; neither in the books of Saheeh, nor in al-Sunan, nor in the Musnads. No hadeeth of this nature was known during the best centuries, but some of the later narrators reported ahaadeeth like the one which says Whoever puts kohl in his eyes on the day of Aashooraa will not suffer from eye disease in that year, and whoever takes a bath (does ghusl) on the day of Aashooraa will not get sick in that year, etc. They also narrated reports concerning the supposed virtues of praying on the day of Aashooraa, and other reports saying that on the day of Aashooraa Adam repented, the Ark settled on Mount Joodi, Yoosuf returned to Yaqoob, Ibraaheem was saved from the fire, the ram was provided for sacrifice instead of Ismaaeel, and so on. They also reported a fabricated hadeeth that is falsely attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), which says, Whoever is generous to his family on the day of Aashooraa, Allaah will be generous to him for the rest of the year.

(Then Ibn Taymiyah discussed the two misguided groups who were in Koofah, Iraq, both of whom took Aashooraa as a festival because of their bidah). The Raafidi group made an outward show of allegiance to the Ahl al-Bayt although inwardly they were either heretics and disbelievers or ignorant and bound by whims and desires. The Naasibi group hated Ali and his companions, because of the troubles and killings that had occurred. It is reported in Saheeh Muslim that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: In (the tribe of) Thaqeef there will be a liar and an oppressor [???]. The liar was al-Mukhtaar ibn Abi Ubayd al-Thaqafi, who made an outward show of allegiance to and support of the Ahl al-Bayt, and killed Ubayd-Allaah ibn Ziyaad, the governor of Iraq, who had equipped the party that killed al-Husayn ibn Ali (may Allaah be pleased with them both); then he (al-Mukhtaar) made it clear that he was a liar, by claiming to be a prophet and that Jibreel (peace be upon him) brought revelation to him. People told Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbaas about this, and said to one of them, al-Mukhtaar ibn Abi Ubayd is claiming to receive revelation [annahu yanzilu alayhi]. He said, He is telling the truth, for Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): Shall I inform you (O people) upon whom the shayaateen (devils) descend [tanazzalu]? They descend upon every lying, sinful person. [al-Shuara 26:221]. [Translators note: the words translated as receive revelation and descend both come from the same root in Arabic]. They said to the other: Al-Mukhtaar is claiming that he receives inspiration. He said, he is telling the truth. And certainly, the Shayaateen (devils) do inspire their friends (from mankind) to dispute with you [al-Anaam 6:121 interpretation of the meaning]. As for the oppressor , this was al-Hajjaaj ibn Yoosuf al-Thaqafi, who was opposed to Ali and his companions. Al-Hajjaaj was a Naasibi and al-Mukhtaar was a Raafidi, and this Raafidi was a greater liar and more guilty of fabrication and heresy, because he claimed to be a prophet

There was much trouble and fighting between these two groups in Kufa. When al-Husayn ibn Ali (may Allaah be pleased with them both) was killed on the day of Aashooraa, he was killed by the sinful, wrongdoing group. Allaah honoured al-Husayn with martyrdom, as He honoured other members of his family, and raised his status, as He honoured Hamzah, Jafar, his father Ali and others. Al-Husayn and his brother al-Hasan are the leaders of the youth of Paradise. High status can only be attained through suffering, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him said, when he was asked which people suffer the most. He said, The Prophets, then righteous people, then the next best and the next best. A man will suffer according to his level of faith. If his faith is solid, he will suffer more, but if his faith is shaky, he will suffer less. The believer will keep on suffering until he walks on the earth with no sin. (reported by al-Tirmidhi and others). Al-Hasan and al-Husayn achieved what they achieved and reached the high status they reached by the help and decree of Allaah. They did not suffer as much as their forefathers had, for they were born and raised during the glory days of Islam, and the Muslims respected and honoured them. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) died when they were still young, and Allaah blessed them by testing them in such a manner that they would be able to catch up with the rest of their family members, as those who were of a higher status than them were also tested. Ali ibn Abi Taalib was better than them, and he was killed as a shaheed (martyr). The killing of al-Husayn was one of the things that caused fitnah (tribulation) among the people, as was the killing of Uthmaan, which was one of the greatest causes of fitnah, because of which the ummah is still split today. Thus the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There are three things, whoever is saved from them is truly saved: my death, the killing of a patient khaleefah, and the Dajjaal (antichrist).

Then Shaykh al-Islam (may Allaah have mercy on him) mentioned a little about the biography of al-Hasan and his just character, then he said:

Then he died, and Allaah was pleased with him and honoured him. Some groups wrote to al-Husayn and promised to support and help him if he went ahead and declared himself khaleefah, but they were not sincere. When al-Husayn sent his cousin [son of his paternal uncle] to them, they broke their word and gave help to the one they had promised to defend him against, and fought with him against [al-Husayns cousin]. Those who were wise and who loved al-Husayn, such as Ibn Abbaas and Ibn Umar and others, advised him not to go to them, and not to accept any promises from them. They thought that his going to them served no useful interest and that the consequences would not be good. Things turned out just as they said, and this is how Allaah decreed it would happen. When al-Husayn (may Allaah be pleased with him) went out and saw that things were not as he had expected, he asked them to let him go back, or to let him join the army that was defending the borders of Islam, or join his cousin Yazeed, but they would not let him do any of these things unless he gave himself up to them as a prisoner. So he fought with them, and they killed him and some of those who were with him, and he was wrongfully slain so he died as a shaheed whose martyrdom brought him honour from Allaah, and so he was reunited with the good and pure members of his family. His murder brought shame on those who had wrongfully killed him, and caused much mischief among the people. An ignorant, wrongful group who were either heretics and hypocrites, or misguided and misled made a show of allegiance to him and the members of his household, so they took the day of Aashooraa as a day of mourning and wailing, in which they openly displayed the rituals of jaahiliyyah such as slapping their cheeks and rending their garments, grieving in the manner of the jaahiliyyah. But what Allaah has commanded us to do when disaster strikes when the disaster is fresh is to bear it with patience and fortitude, and to seek reward, and to remember that all things come from Allaah and we must return to Him, as He says (interpretation of the meaning): but give glad tidings to al-saabiroon (the patient ones), who, when afflicted with calamity, say: Truly, to Allaah we belong and turly, to Him we shall return. They are those on whom are al-salawaat (the blessings) (i.e., who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones. [al-Baqarah 2:155-157] .

It is reported in al-Saheeh that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: he is not one of us who strikes his cheeks, rends his garments and prays with the prayer of Jaahiliyyah. And he said: I have nothing to do with those who strike [their cheeks], shave [their heads] and rend [their garments]. And he said: If the woman who wails does not repent before she dies, she will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection wearing trousers made of tar and a shirt of scabs. In al-Musnad, it is reported from Faatimah bint al-Husayn, from her father al-Husayn, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There is no man who suffers a calamity, and when he remembers it, even if it is old, he says Innaa Lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raajioon (Truly, to Allaah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return), but Allaah will give a reward equal to the reward He gave him on the day he suffered the calamity. This is how Allaah honours the Believers. If the disaster suffered by al-Husayn, and other disasters, are mentioned after all this time, we should say Innaa Lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raajioon (Truly, to Allaah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return), as Allaah and His Messenger commanded, so as to be given the reward like that earned on the day of the disaster itself. If Allaah commanded us to be patient and steadfast and to seek reward at the time of the disaster, then how about after the passing of time? The Shaytaan made this attractive to those who are misled, so they took the day of Aashooraa as an occasion of mourning, when they grieve and wail, recite poems of grief and tell stories filled with lies. Whatever truth there may be in these stories serves no purpose other than the renewal of their grief and sectarian feeling, and the stirring up of hatred and hostility among the Muslims, which they do by cursing those who came before them, and telling many lies, and causing much trouble in the world. The various sects of Islam have never known any group tell more lies or cause more trouble or help the kuffaar against the Muslims more than this misguided and evil group. They are even worse than the Khawaarij who went beyond the pale of Islam. They are the ones of whom the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: They will kill the people of Islam and will leave alone the people who worship idols. This group cooperated with the Jews, Christians and mushrikeen against the members of the Prophets household and his believing ummah, and also helped the mushrik Turks and Tatars to do what they did in Baghdaad and elsewhere to the descendents of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), i.e., the Abbaasid rulers and others, and the believers; the Turks and Tatars killed them, enslaved their women and destroyed their homes. The evil and harm that they do to the Muslims cannot be enumerated by any man, no matter how eloquent he is. Some others either Naasibis who oppose and have enmity towards al-Husayn and his family or ignorant people who try to fight evil with evil, corruption with corruption, lies with lies and bidah with bidah opposed them by fabricating reports in favour of making the day of Aashooraa a day of celebration, by wearing kohl and henna, spending money on one’s children, cooking special dishes and other things that are done on Eids and special occasions. These people took the day of Aashooraa as a festival like Eid, whereas the others took it as a day of mourning. Both are wrong, and both go against the Sunnah, even though the other group (the Rafidis) are worse in intention and more ignorant and more plainly wrong But Allaah commands us to be just and to treat others well. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Those of you who live after my death will see many disputes. I urge you to adhere to my Sunnah and the sunnah of my rightly-guided successors (al-khulafa al-raashidoon) who come after me. Hold onto it as if biting it with your eyeteeth. Beware of newly-innovated matters, for every innovation is a going astray. Neither the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) nor his rightly-guided successors (the khulafa al-raashidoon) did any of these things on the day of Aashooraa, they neither made it a day of mourning nor a day of celebration.

But when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to Madeenah, he saw the Jews fasting on the day of Aashooraa. He said, What is this? They said, This is the day when Allaah saved Moosa from drowning, so we fast on this day. He said, We have more right to Moosa than you, so he fasted on that day and commanded [the Muslims] to fast on that day.

Quraysh also used to venerate this day during the Jaahiliyyah. The day on which people were ordered to fast was just one day. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to Madeenah it was Rabee al-Awwal, and the following year he fasted Aashooraa and commanded the people to fast. Then in that year fasting in Ramadaan was made obligatory and fasting on Aashooraa was abrogated. The scholars disputed as to whether fasting on that day (Aashooraa) was waajib (obligatory) or mustahabb (encouraged). Of the two best known opinions, the more correct view is that it was waajib, then after that whoever fasted it did it because it was mustahabb. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not tell ordinary Muslims to fast on Aashooraa, but he used to say, This is the day of Aashooraa; I am fasting on this day and whoever wishes to fast on this day may fast. And he said: Fasting on Aashooraa expiates for the sins of one year and fasting on the day of Arafaah expiates for the sins of two years. When, towards the end of his life, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) heard that the Jews took the day of Aashooraa as a festival, he said, If I live until next year, I will certainly fast on the ninth to be different from the Jews, and not to resemble them in taking the day as a festival.

There were some of the Sahaabah and scholars who did not fast on this day and did not regard it as mustahabb, but thought it makrooh to single out this day for fasting. This was reported from a group of the Koofiyeen (scholars of Kufa). Some other scholars said that it was mustahabb to fast on this day. The correct view is that it is mustahabb for the one who fasts on Aashooraa to fast on the ninth day [of Muharram] too, because this was the ultimate command of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), as he said: If I live until next year, I will certainly fast on the ninth as well as the tenth. This was reported with a variety of isnaads. This is what is prescribed in the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

As for the other things, such as cooking special dishes with or without grains, or wearing new clothes, or spending money on ones family, or buying the years supplies on that day, or doing special acts of worship such as special prayers or deliberately slaughtering an animal on that day, or saving some of the meat of the sacrifice to cook with grains, or wearing kohl and henna, or taking a bath (ghusl), or shaking hands with one another, or visiting one another, or visiting the mosques and mashhads (shrines) and so on all of this is reprehensible bidah and is wrong. None of it has anything to do with the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) or the way of the Khulafa al-Raashidoon. It was not approved of by any of the imaams of the Muslims, not Maalik, not al-Thawri, not al-Layth ibn Sad, not Abu Haneefah not al-Oozaai, not Al Shafai, not Ahmad ibn Hanbal, not Ishaaq ibn Raahwayh, not any of the imaams and scholars of the Muslims.

The religion of Islam is based on two principles: that we should worship nothing besides Allaah Alone, and that we should worship Him in the manner that He has prescribed, not by means of bidah or reprehensible innovations. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord. [al-Kahf 18:110].

Righteous deeds are those which are loved by Allaah and His Messenger, those which are prescribed in Islam and in the Sunnah. Thus Umar bin Al Khattab (may Allaah be pleased with him) used to say in his duaa: O Allaah, make all of my deeds righteous and make them purely for Your sake, and do not let there be any share for anyone or anything else in them.

(The above is summarized from the words of Shaykh ul Islam Ibne Tamiyah RA may Allaah have mercy on him. Al-Fataawa al-Kubra, part 5). And Allaah is the Guide to the Straight Path.

*Words to be used for offering Greetings*

Assalamu  Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabaraktahu Smile

ALLAH the Exalted says:
“When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it equally.”  (4:86)

It is recommended for the one offering greetings to say: `As-Salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu’. The reply is `Wa `Alaikum us-Salamu wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu.’

1. Rewards for Greeting Salaam:

`Imran bin Husain (May ALLAH be pleased with them) reported: A man came to the Prophet (PBUH) and said: “As-Salamu `Alaikum (may you be safe from evil). Messenger of ALLAH (PBUH) responded to his greeting and the man sat down. The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Ten (meaning the man had earned the merit of ten good acts).” Another one came and said: “As-Salamu `Alaikum wa Rahmatullah (may you be safe from evil, and Mercy of ALLAH be upon you).” Messenger of ALLAH (PBUH) responded to his greeting and the man sat down. Messenger of ALLAH (PBUH) said, “Twenty.” A third one came and said: “As-Salamu `Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu (may you be safe from evil, and the Mercy of ALLAH and His Blessings be upon you).” Messenger of ALLAH (PBUH) responded to his greeting and the man sat down. Messenger of ALLAH (PBUH) said, “Thirty.” [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].

Commentary: Ten, Twenty and Thirty is the reward of saying the Islamic greeting, according to its words.

2) Greeting each other with salaam while leaving/departing too:
  • Abu Hurayrah(ra) narrated that a man passed by the Prophet(pbuh) when he was in a gathering and said, “Salaamun ‘alaykum.” He (the Prophet (pbuh) said, “Ten hasanahs.”

Another man passed by and said,”Salaamun ‘alaykum wa rahmat-Allaahi (Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allaah) .” He(pbuh) said, “Twenty hasanahs.”

Then another man passed by and said, “Salaamun ‘alaykum wa rahmat-Allaahi wa barakaatuhu (Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allaah and His blessings).” He(pbuh) said: “Thirty hasanahs.”
A man got up and left the gathering and did not say salaam. The Prophet (pbuh) said, “How soon your companion has forgotten. When one of you comes to a gathering and says salaam, if he wants to sit down then let him do so. Then when he wants to leave, let him say salaam, for the one is not more important than the other.”Ibn Hibbaan narrated in his Saheeh (493), Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 2712.

  • Abu Hurairah (ra) reported: Prophet(pbuh) said, “When one of you arrives in a gathering, he should offer Salam to those who are already there, and he should also do so when he intends to depart. The first act of greeting is not more meritorious than the last.”[Abu Dawud].

Commentary: We should offer As-Salam to those sitting in a gathering, on our arrival as well as departure. Both the greetings are essential. “The first act of greeting is not more meritorious than the last” means that we should utter it on both occasions. (Imam Al-Nawawi’s Riyad-us-Saliheen)

3) Maximum greeting extent limit

Yahya related to me from Malik from Wahb ibn Kaysan that Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Ata said, ‘I was sitting with Abdullah ibn Abbas when a Yemeni man came in. He said, ‘Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessing'(as-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu), and then he added something more to that. Ibn Abbas said (and at that time his eyesight had gone), ‘Who is this?’ People said, ‘This is a Yemeni who has come to see you,’ and they introduced him. Ibn Abbas said, ‘The greeting ends with the word blessing (wabarkatahu)(Malik: Book 53 : Hadith 53.1.2)

4) Weak ahadiths adding ‘wa maghfiratahu etc..’ to the greeting:

Adding the words “wa maghfiratuhu (and His forgiveness)” or “wa ridwaanuhu (and His pleasure)”, these are not mentioned in any saheeh report from our Prophet (pbuh), (Ibn al-Qayyim in Zaad al-Ma’aad, 2/381, and by al-Albaani in Da’eef Abi Dawood, 5196).

5) Greetings after Short Intervals:

  • Abu Hurairah (ra) reported in the Hadith in respect of the person who was at fault in performing his Salat (prayer): He came to the Prophet(pbuh) and greeted him. The Prophet(pbuh) responded to the greeting and said, “Go back and repeat your Salat because you have not performed the Salat (properly).” He again performed Salat as he had prayed before and came to the Prophet(pbuh) and greeted him. The Prophet(pbuh) responded to the greetings (and repeated his words to him). This act of repeating (the Salat and the Salam) was done thrice.[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary: This Hadith tells us that one can greet others after short intervals.

  • Abu Hurairah (ra) reported: Prophet(pbuh) said, “When one of you meets a brother (in Faith) he should greet him. Then if a tree or a wall or a stone intervenes between them and then he meets him again, he should greet him.”[Abu Dawud].

Commentary: This Hadith convincingly bears out the subject matter of the chapter.Imam Al-Nawawi’s Riyad-us-Saliheen Chapter 134 Excellence of Greeting the Acquaintance Repeatedly

5. Replying of Greeting to Third Person

`Aishah (May ALLAH be pleased with her) reported: Messenger of ALLAH (PBUH) said to me, “This is Jibril (Gabriel) who is conveying you greetings of peace.” I responded: “Wa `Alaihis-Salamu wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu (may he be safe from evil, and the Mercy of ALLAH and His Blessings be upon him).”  [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary: This Hadith affirms the excellence of `Aishah (May ALLAH be pleased with him). It also tells us how to respond to the Salam of a third person, that is, we should say, “Wa `Alaihis-Salamu wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu.’

6. Repeating Greeting Thrice

Anas (May ALLAH be pleased with him) reported the Prophet (PBUH) used to repeat his words thrice so that the meaning thereof would be fully understood, and whenever he came upon a gathering of people, he would greet them. He would repeat Salam thrice.  [Al-Bukhari].

Commentary: This Hadith tells us about one aspect of the Prophet’s excellent manners that he would take due care of showing regard for the sentiments of people. The whole of a gathering is not supposed to hear the Salam of somebody and respond to him. A single person can represent the gathering in this regard. Yet, it was characteristic benevolence of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) which prompted him to repeat his saying “As-Salamu `Alaikum” thrice so that everybody would hear it and may not have a feeling of being neglected.

7. Greeting in Low Voice While Others are Asleep

. Al-Miqdad (May ALLAH be pleased with him) reported in course of a long Hadith: We used to reserve for the Prophet (PBUH) his share of the milk, and he would come at night and offer greetings in such a manner as did not disturb those asleep and was heard only by those who were awake. In fact, the Prophet (PBUH) came and offered greetings as usual.  [Muslim].

Commentary: Herein, we are told how to offer Salam to people when some of them are asleep while others are awake. Our voice should be so low so as not to disturb those who are asleep and to give a chance to those who are awake to respond to it.

8. Greeting While Raising Hands

. Asma’ bint Yazid (May ALLAH be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of ALLAH (PBUH) passed through the mosque one day and there was a group of women (about ten of them) sitting in the mosque. He raised his hand to offer greetings.  [At-Tirmidhi].

Commentary: To offer As-Salam by the gesture of hand from a distance is forbidden in Islam because it is the way of non-Muslims. However, it is allowed if words are also uttered along with it. Secondly, Messenger of Allah (PBUH) could greet women because he was sinless and permanently stood under Allah’s Protection. Yet, it is not permissible to other men for the fear of provoking temptation. But this Hadith can be carried into effect in case one feels that no temptation and evil will be involved in it. For example, a man can greet aged and respectable women. However, Salam to young women is not allowed as it can give birth to wickedness.

9. Greeting of Salam is alike to the living and the dead.

Abu Juraiy Jabir bin Sulaim (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I noticed a man whose opinion was followed by every body, and no one acted contrary to what he said. I asked who he was, and I was informed that he was Messenger of Allah (PBUH). I said to him twice: “Alaikas-salam ya Rasul-Allah (may Allah render you safe).” He said, “Do not say: `Alaikas-salamu.’ This is the salutation to the dead (in Jahiliyyah times). Say, instead: `As-salamu `alaika (may Allah render you safe).”’ I asked: “Are you Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “(Yes) I am the Messenger of Allah, Who will remove your affliction when you are in trouble and call to Him, Who will cause food to grow for you when you are famine-stricken and call to Him, and Who will restore to you your lost riding beast in the desert when you call upon Him.” I said to him: “Give me instructions (to act upon).” He ((PBUH) said, “Do not abuse anyone.” (Since then I have never abused anyone, neither a freeman, nor a slave, nor a camel, nor a sheep). He (PBUH) continued, “Do not hold in contempt even an insignificant act of goodness, because even talking to your brother with a cheerful countenance is an act of goodness. Hold up your lower garment half way to the leg, and at least above the ankles; for trailing it is arrogance, and Allah dislikes pride. And if a man imputes to you of bad things he knows you possess, do not impute to him bad things that you know he has for he will assume the evil consequences of his abuse.”  [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].

Commentary: Herein, we are informed that the Companions of Messenger of Allah (PBUH) would lend a ready ear to the Prophet’s advice and put it into practice resolutely. Besides, in Islam the greeting of peace or Salam is alike to the living as well as the dead.

The Hadith also tells us about the desirable length of Izar or lower garment. Shari`ah allows it up to the ankles, but if it goes below, the wearer will be involved in a serious transgression incurring Hell-fire as mentioned earlier. Second, any good act, however small it may be, must not be underestimated and ignored. At no cost should it be given up. Third, nobody should be reproached for his fault or mistake, that is, he should not be put to humiliation in public for it. However, in private conversation he may be advised to improve his behaviour and desist from repeating his mistake.

Virtues of Mother of the Believers Hazrat Aisha ra

This topic has been created for the purpose of the status of Mother of the Believers Hazrat e Aisha radiallahuanha in Islam.

a) Sahih Al Bukhari : Narrated ‘Ursa: Aisha said, “While the Ethiopians were playing with their small spears, Allah’s Apostle screened me behind him and I watched (that display) and kept on watching till I left on my own.” So you may estimate of what age a little girl may listen to amusement. [Book #62, Hadith #118]

Prophet (Peace be upon him) used to take Hazrat Aisha (r.a) to show the games.

b) Abu Musa al-Ash’ari says about her:

?? ???? ????? ????? ???? ???? ??? ???? ???? ???? ???? ?? ?????? ????? ??? ????? ????? ??? ????.
.”Whenever we (the Companions) of Prophet peace be upon him had any difficulty on hadeeth, of which we approached Aisha and (always) found that she had the knowledge of the hadith “. [SunanTirmidhi hadith no: 3883]

c) It is mentioned in Sunan Darami
.?????????? ?????? ??????? ???? ???????? ?????????? ???????? ???? ???????? ???? ???????????? ???? ????????? ????? ????????? ?????????? ??????? ????????? ???????? ???????????? ????? ????????? ??? ?????? ???????? ?????? ???????? ???????????? ???? ???????? ????????? ?????????????? ???? ????????????
It is narrated from Masrooq Radi Allahu `anhu that he was asked if `Aaishah (Radi Allahu `anha) knew the science of division of the shares of inheritance, he said, “By Allah! I have seen senior Sahabah ask her questions of fariad”[Imam Hakim in his Mustadrak 4/11, Musannif Ibne abi shaiba Kitab al Faraid, Imam Darami in his Sunan Kitab al Faraiz Chapter Taleem al faraiz no:2901 Dar ul Mugni Muhaqqiq of Sunan Darami said Chain is Authentic, (Amash is Mudallis but we can use this hadeeth in support of the hadith of Abu Musa al Ash`ari)]

d) Reported by Zakwaan
When Aaishah was near her death, Ibn Abbaas asked permission to visit her, and then he said to her:Among the wives of the Messenger of Allah ??? ???? ???? ???? , he loved you the most, and he did not love except which is good Allah Talaa has sent proof of your innocence through jibreal from above the seven heavens.……(Aisha r.a replied)???? ??? ?? ? ???? ???? ? ?????? ???? ???? ????? ??? ??? ????? ??????.O Ibn-e-Abbas (r.a) please leave it, I take oath of Allah in whose hand is my life, I wanted that I would have been an unknown.[(Musnad Ahmad bin Humble, Musnad Banu Hashim, Musnad Abdullah bin Abbas bin Abdul Mutlib)(Fadail e Sahaba of Imam Ahmad 2/872 no:1636)]
e) .
.. Aisha narrated that she made a will to ‘Abdullah bin Zubair, “Do not bury me with them (the Prophet and his two companions) but bury me with my companions (wives of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) ) in Al-Baqi as I would not like to be looked upon as better than I really am (by being buried near the Prophet).”[Bukhari Volume 2, Book 23, Number 474]

f) Narrated Abu Uthman:
Allah’s Apostle sent ‘Amr bin Al As as the commander of the troops of Dhat-us-Salasil. ‘Amr bin Al-‘As said, “(On my return) I came to the Prophet and said, ‘Which people do you love most?’ He replied, ‘Aisha.’ I said, ‘From amongst the men?’ He replied, ‘her father (Abu Bakr)’. I said, ‘Whom (do you love) next?’ He replied, “Umar.’ Then he counted the names of many men, and I became silent for fear that he might regard me as the last of them.” [Bukhari Book #59, Hadith #644]

g) Hafiz Ibne Qayyam quoted so many Virtues of Aisha ra few of Them are

Also among her unique characteristics is: that Allaah declared her innocence of that of which the people of the slander (ahl al-ifk) accused her, and revealed words concerning her innocence that are recited in the mosques of the Muslims and during their prayers until the Day of Resurrection. Allaah Himself bore witness that she is one of the good women, and promised her forgiveness and a goodly provision. He, may He be glorified, stated that what was said about her in the slander was ultimately good for her, in the end it was not bad for her and did not do any harm to her status, because through this Allaah raised her status and her innocence is mentioned among the people of heaven and earth, which is an incomparably good thing.
Also among her unique characteristics is: that the greatest Sahaabah, when they were confused about some matter of religion, would consult her and would find the knowledge they were seeking with her.

Also among her unique characteristics is: that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) died in her house, on her day, in her arms, and he was buried in her house.[Jalaa al-Afhaam, pp. 237-241]

Refuting Muhammad said Muslims to Tell Lie

21 Refuting Muhammad said muslims to tell lie

Abul Kasem said

Muhammad said muslims to tell lie.

Muslim scholars teach that Muslims should be truthful to each other.

There are two forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted under certain circumstances, taqiyya and kitman. One of those circumstances is to gain the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.

And then he quoted few Ayah and Ahadeeth, This issue is replied here

Can he tell lies to his parents in order to increase their good deeds?
When I get some money from my father or mother, I give it in charity and keep a little. When I ask them for money they say, Where did your money go? I tell them a lie and say that I bought stuff with it. The reason why I tell this lie is that I want Allaah to increase their good deeds. Is it permissible for me to lie to them or should I tell them the truth?.

Praise be to Allaah.

The basic principle concerning telling lies is that it is one of the signs of the hypocrites, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The signs of the hypocrite are three: when he speaks, he lies, when he makes a promise he breaks it, and when he is entrusted with something he breaks that trust. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 32; Muslim, 89.

But there are some instances in which Islam permits lying, if that serves a greater purpose or wards off a greater harm:

These cases include the following:

1-     When a person is intermediating in order to bring about reconciliation between two disputing parties.

2-     When a man speaks to his wife, or a wife to her husband, concerning matters that will increase the love between them.

3-     War.

It was narrated from Umm Kulthoom bint Uqbah that she heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: He is not a liar who brings about reconciliation among people, conveys good words and says good things.

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2546; Muslim, 2605

It was narrated that Asma bint Yazeed said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Lies are not appropriate except in three cases: when a man speaks to his wife to please her, telling lies at times of war, and lying in order to bring about reconciliation between people. Shaykh al-Albaani said: it is hasan.

What you have mentioned is no excuse for telling lies to your family. If you are honest with them they will never be deprived of the reward for spending on you. And you can combine your familys spending on you and their giving in charity to the needy by encouraging them to spend for the sake of Allaah, with no need to tell lies about buying stuff when you have not done so.

We ask Allaah to correct your intention and set your affairs straight, and to reward you greatly for your desire to benefit your family.

And Allaah knows best.

(end quote from Islam Qa)

Ruling on lies that do not harm anyone
What is the ruling on lies that will never harm anyone?.

Praise be to Allaah.

Lying is haraam in all cases, expect those which are exempted by the Lawgiver, and what is mentioned here is not one of those cases, because of the general meaning of the evidence, such as the verse in which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): O you who believe! Fear Allaah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds) [al-Tawbah 9:119]. In al-Saheehayn and elsewhere it is narrated that Abd-Allaah ibn Masood (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: I urge you to be truthful, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man will continue to be truthful and seek to speak the truth until he is recorded with Allaah as speaker of truth (siddeeq). And beware of lying, for lying leads to immorality and immorality leads to Hell; a man will continue to tell lies until he is recorded with Allaah as a liar. And it was narrated that Abd-Allaah ibn Masood also said: Lying is not appropriate whether in earnest or in jest. Recite if you wish (interpretation of the meaning): O you who believe! Fear Allaah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds) [al-Tawbah 9:119]. Then he said: Do you find any concession allowing that to anyone?

And Allaah is the Source of strength. May Allaah send blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions. End quote.

ISLAM WILL NOT BE A THREAT IF: Reply to Agniveer Article

Islam will not be a threat if

We are asked innumerable times the same question Why Agniveer is so obsessed with questioning Islam? The answer however remains the same the dominant version of Islam today, as preached by likes of Zakir Naik, Osama Bin Laden, Talibanis, Saudi Mullahs etc are the greatest threat for humanity today.

Well Islam doesnt depend on any individual or on his ideology, the Islam as youre portraying or understanding is wrong. Regarding Zakir Naik (as you first took his name) he himself preaches that believe what is proven from Quran and Sunnah, not his own opinion. Similarly when Quran has clearly stated that Surah Al Maidah Chapter 5 Verse 32 that :

Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land – it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind.

When it is surprising a religion which prohibits killing innocent ones how can it be a threat to humanity? In spite of this people who are the followers of their desires and want to spread mischief amongst the human kind they will not agree with Islam because at the same time Islam states unequivocally about Justice that :

O Ye who believe! be ye maintainers of justice, bearers of testimony for Allahs sake, though it be against yourselves or your parents or kindred. Be he rich or poor, Allah is nigher unto either wherefore follow not the passion, lest ye deviate. If ye incline or turn away, then verily of that which ye work Allah is ever Aware.

(Surah An-Nisa Chapter 4 Verse 135)

And at the same time regarding other Muslis Osama Bin Laden etc, we nobody can trust on Media which always show Double Standards. Neither the information comes from the Media can be authentic.

Let us have a look at here : Mumbai based businessman arrested for raping his own daughters for 9 years on saying of a Tantrik.

Now how much true it is? Do we blame the Hindus for this Tantrik? Or the Indian Government? Or the Media?

Now still our Quran says that whenever any information comes to you first verify it then propagate it.

Al-Quran (49:6)

A large number of articles on the site expose the fraudulent claims of witchdoctors of Islam like Zakir Naik and showcase why it is utter foolishness to regard only Quran as final word of Allah and all the rest of the books on earth as redundant for seeking Him. We have explored fallacies and contradictions in Quran, status of women in Islam, fanaticism and its cause in Islam and host of other topics. The impact has been tremendous and we have now a huge number of rational Muslims seeking ways to wiggle out of clutches of fanatic Islam. Many have agreed to believe in Rebirth and Theory of Karma. Others admit that all the Sahih Hadiths (True Sayings of Muhammad) are not true, unlike claims of the clerics that those who refuse to believe in Sahih Hadiths would go to Hell.

Today we have several hundred pages of summarized content on Islam on the site. Thus it becomes confusing for a newcomer to grasp the core essence. Hence we present here the key concerns with Islam why it is the greatest threat for humanity today.

Our Answer :

Brother I request you to dont use words like foolishness or etc because it will spread hatred, see the beauty of the Quran :

Call them unto the way of thy Lord with Wisdom and goodly exhortation, and argue with them with that which is best. ( Surah An-Nahl Chapter 16 Verse 125 )

So if you want to bring people together on one single platform please be wise in calling towards it. Brother dont get annoyed if you have any verse or claim from your scriptures that your Scripture is the final word of God, then it is good to spread but since we find in the Quran that it is the last word of God Almighty and its beauty and not corrupted since 1400 years it is a fact itself that not only Muslims but also Non-Muslims accepted this fact. Whenever we have to believe in a thing everybody first check its authenticity, but how can we trust a scripture as a whole or to be the word of God Almighty to which their own people doesnt know when it came into existence. As for your errors or misunderstanding as I have read out your articles it is your misunderstanding of Islam, and in the very same site your articles have been replied. I just point out some Big Errors from your articles which a common Muslim child even knew.

Youre confused in your Article Was Islam a Revelation of Allah, that whether Adam is Prophet or not, The concept of God as to which Muslims believe, whether Prophet Muhammad was the last messenger or not etc. These are very Basic Beliefs and proven directly from Quran and Sunnah and the Salaf as I stated in that article of mine.

Well Regarding your Karma theory and Rebirth, if you compare many then in fact Muslims are large in numbers than the Hindus, not only Muslims the Christians as well and they dont believe in the theory what you propounded. But in Islam and naturally the Justice is that Majority is not a proof to accept something, as I mentioned previously the Media showed that the Tantric Influenced Man raped her own daughter, so whatever the Majority says will you accept it ?. Maybe you can brother, but a sensible person will see the truth not the majority. Brother as I advised you that Islam doesnt depend on any sect or individual ideology but rather on Quran and Sunnah and the Understanding of Salaf, So as the Shias doesnt believe in Quran similarly if someone doesnt believe in Hadiths, then it is against the Quran and Sunnah thus rejected. Islam is simple and easy, follow the Quran and Sunnah.

We shall not get into analysis of scriptures here. On contrary, we would assume that scholars and major schools of Islam like Zakir Naik, Darul Uloom, Barelvi, Qadiyani etc represent true Islam in their own rights. We would also assume that they know more about Islam than Agniveer or anyone else questioning Islam. So if these prominent experts and representatives of Islam can issue the following verdicts and their stands on these topics very clearly in most unambiguous terms, there would be no reason for anyone to consider Islam to be a threat. And Agniveer would be more than glad to remove all articles on Islam. Further it would launch a pro-active campaign to urge all other so-called anti-Islamic sites to shut downs.

Our Answer:

Brother we urge you to read Quran and Sunnah Under any Good Scholar, dont look what the different sect says.

The verdicts we demand from these experts are most reasonable and rational and have nothing offensive about it. It is the absence of clarity on following issues that causes all rational minds to be scared of Islamic terrorism and doubt even innocent fellow Muslims.

So Islam will not be perceived as a threat if, the clerics and experts state that:

1. It is not necessary that all non-Muslims, regardless of their good deeds, will burn in Hell forever. Thus, if there is a benevolent non-Muslim who refuses to believe in Quran, despite being given an invitation to embrace Islam, because he or she did not find Quran convincing, or because he or she does know Arabic, or a host of other reasons, it does not mean he or she is disqualified from entering into Heaven and must burn in Hell forever.

For example, the great saints, freedom fighters, soldiers and social workers who lived a pious life, knew about Quran, but remained non-Muslim because Quran did not appeal to them, would not go to Hell. (Refer following video by Islamic terrorist Zakir Naik where he gives a most stupid logic that can impress only psychopaths)

Brother suppose if someone doesnt believe in Quran then why does he fear for hell? A person who has not yet joined school why does he fear to complete his homework, but when if someone is convinced with Quran it is his own choice to accept or reject, surely nobody will force you to accept Islam as mentioned in Quran Chapter 2 Verse 256 that There is no Compulsion in Religion. So it is for those who is already in the School means in Islam, so when theyre convinced, nobody is forcing (if anybody was forcing to accept Islam then all the people would have been Muslims in India because Muslims ruled over them) you or them who doesnt believe, so when they doesnt believe then why they are disturbed?. A Normal man will never be disturbed from a thing on which he doesnt belief.

2. It is not necessary that a criminal would go to Heaven simply because he surrenders to Quran and Islam and says a sorry!. So all those terrorists who kill, rape or loot in name of Islam would go to Hell and should be openly condemned by Muslims regardless of their religion.

It is again, this question arises here. The Problem would have been arises if there is an Islamic Government and the Muslim ruler Punishes the sinful people for example Quran states punishment for robbers to chop off their hands. But when the case of any Muslim comes he would forgive him due to his sorry. But in reality that is not the case if any person commit any crime if it is proven then he will be punished as the punish is mentioned. As for the punishment after the life of death, if somebody doesnt believe in the Quran then why he has to fear the Quranic punishment in Hell. And those who believe they dont have problem. And those who dont believe how can they have problem? When Quran clearly states to do Justice. However in several places in Quran and Sunnah the sinners are told to be punished whether theyre Muslim or Non-Muslim.

3. A woman is not bereft of intelligence or half-intelligent compared to men as claimed in several verses of Quran/ Hadiths. Allah allows women the same social, legal and political opportunities in life that He endows to men.

Read here for reply to this allegation :

4. The concept of Jazia tax on non-Muslims is disgusting. Social, political and criminal regulations should be same for everyone regardless of religion.

5. The English translations of Quran by likes of Yusuf Ali, Pickthall, Dawood; Tafseers of Sahih International, Jalalyn; Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim as published by Islamic publishers and websites suffer from discrepancies and DO NOT correctly represent Islam.

Because these are the only translations which are used for questioning Islam. The Muslim debaters would refuse to admit that these translations are wrong (because Islam forbids them to condemn other Muslims) but yet try to allege that anti-Islamic material is used to demean Islam!

The fact is that ONLY Islamic texts published by Islamic publishers is used to question Islam, be it by Agniveer or by Faith Freedom or by Islam Watch etc. So if there is anything objectionable in sources cited by those questioning Islam, the experts should clearly state that they reject the authenticity of the sources even if it is an Islamic publication.

Well Quran has been revealed in Arabic, so the Translation is the work of Human being. So the chances of error arise in the Human work, and every Scholar including Zakir Naik told several times in his lectures that Translation 100 percent cannot be correct. So better is to learn and Read Arabic.

6. The Sahih (True) Hadiths (sayings of Muhammad) which talk of rape of war victims, or killing children and other disgusting things (refer Zakir Naik claims Islam The ONLY Practical Religion of World! and Practical Islam Science of Hygiene ) are wrong and NOT part of Islam.

I already stated previously that Islam is based upon Quran and Sunnah, so due to your misunderstanding we dont anything, but brother it is you who have to understand it correctly as you yourself accepted that youre not aware of Islam as the Scholars are.

For Islam Hygiene.

To Understand Concept of Jihad, rather then his own misunderstandings.

7. A Muslim who could not find Islam addressing his questions and converts to another religion does not require to be killed for apostasy as per Islamic laws, even if he propagates his new religion. Those who KILL apostates or justify their killing in Islamic state are greatest criminals. (Refer Zakir Naik the mentor of terrorists)

As far Apostasy is concerned Islam is not a Religion like others, Islam deals with every aspect of life whether it be social, economical etc. And first of all killing the Apostate is only allowed to Islamic State not to every Muslim Individual otherwise no apostate would have been alive. So when there is no Islamic State and any individual killing any apostate how can this question be raised ? when the man doesnt raised the question here that Islam doesnt force people to accept Islam. So similarly if this question would have been asked regarding his own Country Rule ? Surely he would have defended and honored this rule or even we see there are people who love their country so much they even ready to take rules in their hands.

8. All those Muslim rulers like Babur who admit in their own biography of indulging into pedophilia, homosexuality, cutting thousands of head, narcotics and keeping harem of women are not actually Muslims but disgrace in name of Islam. (Refer Babri Masjid demolition Symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity )

9. All those clerics, organizations and countries that call for constant war against non-Muslims are against Islam and criminals. For example refer to following fatwa issued from Saudi Arabia:

Fatwa_It is Obligatory for Non-Muslims to Accept ISLAM

10. Non-Muslims should have the same rights to propagate their beliefs in Islamic countries, (so far the beliefs are not criminal, immoral and violent) as Muslims have the right to propagate Islam in non-Islamic countries. But if Muslims believe that it is against Islam to allow preaching of any other religion in Islamic countries, then they should also stop propagating Islam in other countries.

That Ruler is not Quran or Sunnah, First of all it is mentioned in the Quran clearly that There is no compulsion, they why are you running away behind a verdict ? And I can post a same question ? why dont all hindus get together and start issuing verdict against Rapist Swamis. Islam is a complete religion which is complete from every perspective so it doesnt need anyone other religions ideology unlike Hinduism which even doesnt know when it came into existence ? So how can you compare Islam with other religions.
