How to Erase Our Sins

Following is a compilation of Ahadth that speaks of ways in which we can erase our sins, InshaAllh!

Repenting

A servant [of Allh’s] committed a sin and said: O Allh, forgive me my sin. And He (glorified and exalted be He) said: My servant has committed a sin and has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for them. Then he sinned again and said: O Lord, forgive me my sin. And He (glorified and exalted be He) said: My servant has committed a sin and has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for them. Then he sinned again and said: O Lord, forgive me my sin. And He (glorified and exalted be He) said: My servant has committed a sin and has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for sins. Do what you wish, for I have forgiven you. [Hadth Qudsi]

O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it. [Hadth Qudsi]

Ab Bakr radhiAllhu `anhu reported:

“I heard the Prophet sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam saying: ‘Allh forgives the man who commits a sin (then feels ashamed), purifies himself, offers a prayer and seeks His forgiveness.‘ Then he recited the ‘ayyah: ‘And those who, when they do an evil thing or wrong themselves, remember Allh and implore forgiveness for their sins – and who can forgive sins except Allh? – and will not knowingly repeat (the wrong) they did. The reward of such will be forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever- a bountiful reward for workers.”‘ [al-‘lmrn: 135-136]. [Ab Dawd, an-Nasa’i, Ibn Majah, al-Baihaqi, and at-Tirmidh who calls it hasan.]

Performing Wudh

Narrated Ab Hurayrah radhiAllhu `anhu: Allh’s Apostle sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said:

When a bondsman – a Muslim or a believer – washes his face (in course of ablution), every sin he contemplated with his eyes will be washed away from his face along with water, or with the last drop of water ; when he washes his hands, every sin they wrought will be effaced from his hands with the water, or with the last drop of water; and when he washes his feet, every sin towards which his feet have walked will be washed away with the water, or with the last drop of water, with the result that he comes out pure from all sins. [Sahh Muslim]

Narrated Uthmn ibn AffnradhiAllhu `anhu:

The Messenger of Allh sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said: He who performed ablution well, his sins would come out from his body, even coming out from under his nails. [Sahh Muslim]

Performing Prayer

Narrated Uthmn ibn Affn radhiAllhu `anhu: “I heard Allh’s Apostle sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam say:

When the time for a prescribed prayer comes, if any Muslim performs ablution well and offers his prayer) with humility and bowing, it will be an expiation for his past sins, so long as he has not committed a major sin; and this applies to for all times. [Sahh Muslim]

Narrated Ab Huraira radhiAllhu `anhu: “Allh’s Apostle said,

“The congregational prayer of anyone amongst you is more than twenty (five or twenty seven) times in reward than his prayer in the market or in his house, for if he performs ablution completely and then goes to the mosque with the sole intention of performing the prayer, and nothing urges him to proceed to the mosque except the prayer, then, on every step which he takes towards the mosque, he will be raised one degree or one of his sins will be forgiven. The angels will keep on asking Allh’s forgiveness and blessings for everyone of you so long as he keeps sitting at his praying place. The angels will say, ‘O Allh, bless him! O Allh, be merciful to him!’ as long as he does not do Hadath or a thing which gives trouble to the other.” The Prophet further said, “One is regarded in prayer so long as one is waiting for the prayer.” [Sahh Al-Bukhari]

Narrated Ab Hurayrah radhiAllhu `anhu:

“The Messenger of Allh sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said: He who purified himself in his house, and then he walked to one of the houses of Allh for the sake of performing a fard (obligatory act) out of the Fara’id (obligatory acts) of Allh, both his steps (would be significant) as one of them would obliterate his sin and the second one would raise his status. [Sahh Muslim]

Attending the Jumu’ah Salh

Narrated Ab Hurayrah radhiAllhu `anhu: The Messenger of Allh sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said:

Five prayers and from one Friday prayer to (the next) Friday prayer is an expiation (of the sins committed in between their intervals) if major sins are not committed. [Sahh Muslim]

Narrated by Salman Al Farsi radhiAllhu `anhu: The Prophet sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said,

“Whoever takes a bath on Friday, purifies himself as much as he can, then uses his (hair) oil or perfumes himself with the scent of his house, then proceeds (for the Jumua prayer) and does not separate two persons sitting together (in the mosque), then prays as much as (Allh has) written for him and then remains silent while the Imam is delivering the Khutba, his sins in-between the present and the last Friday would be forgiven.” [Sahh Al-Bukhari]

Doing good deeds

Narrated Ibn Masud radhiAllhu `anhu: A man kissed a woman and then came to Allh’s Apostle and told him of that, so this Divine Inspiration was revealed to the Prophet sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam:

“And offer Prayers perfectly at the two ends of the day, and in some hours of the night; (i.e. (five) compulsory prayers). Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (small sins). That is a reminder for the mindful.” (Qur’aan : 11.114) The man said, Is this instruction for me only?” The Prophet said, “It is for all those of my followers who encounter a similar situation.” [Sahh Al-Bukhari]

Performing Umrah and Hajj

Narrated by Ab Huraira : The Prophet sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said,

“Whoever performs Hajj for Allh’s pleasure and does not have sexual relations with his wife, and does not do evil or sins then he will return (after Hajj free from all sins) as if he were born anew.” [Sahh Al-Bukhari]

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud radhiAllhu `anhu narrated that the Prophet sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said:

“Alternate between Hajj and ‘Umrah (regularly), for these two remove poverty and sins just as the blacksmith’s bellows removes all impurities from metals like iron, gold and silver. The reward for Hajj Mabrur is nothing short of Paradise.” [Nasa’i and Tirmidhi, who regards it a sound hadth ]

Narrated Ab Huraira radhiAllhu `anhu: Allh’s Apostle sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said,

“(The performance of) ‘Umra is an expiation for the sins committed (between it and the previous one). And the reward of Hajj Mabrur (the one accepted by Allh) is nothing except Paradise.” [Sahh Al-Bukhari]

Saying ‘?mn’

Narrated by Ab Huraira radhiAllhu `anhu: The Prophet sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said,

“When the Imm says ‘Aamn’, then you should all say Aamn, for the angels say ?mn at that time, and he whose ?mn coincides with the ?mn of the ange
ls, all his past sins will be forgiven.” [Sahh Al-Bukhari]

Fasting and performing prayers in the night of Qadr in Ramadn

Narrated by Ab Huraira radhiAllhu `anhu: The Prophet sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said,

“Whoever fasted the month of Ramadn out of sincere Faith (i.e. belief) and hoping for a reward from Allh, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allh, then all his previous sins will be forgiven .” [Sahh Al-Bukhari]

Sending salutations

Ab Talha Al Ansari radhiAllhu `anhu said, “The Prophet, sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam, woke up one day cheerful and beaming. His companions exclaimed, ‘O Prophet of Allh, you woke up today cheerful and beaming.’ He replied,

‘Yes! A messenger of Allh, the Mighty and the Glorified, came to me and said, “If anyone from your ummah sends you a salutation, Allh will record for him ten good deeds, wipe off ten of his sins, and raise him thereby ten degrees in rank, and He will return his salutation with a similar salutation”.’ [Ahmad] Ibn Kathr considers this a sound hadth ]

Being kind to animals

Narrated Ab Huraira radhiAllhu `anhu: Allh’s Apostle sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said,

“While a man was walking he felt thirsty and went down a well and drank water from it. On coming out of it, he saw a dog panting and eating mud because of excessive thirst. The man said, ‘This (dog) is suffering from the same problem as that of mine. So he (went down the well), filled his shoe with water, caught hold of it with his teeth and climbed up and watered the dog. Allh thanked him for his (good) deed and forgave him.” The people asked, “O Allh’s Apostle! Is there a reward for us in serving (the) animals?” He replied, “Yes, there is a reward for serving any animate.” [Sahh Al-Bukhari]

Narrated Ab Huraira radhiAllhu `anhu: Allh’s Apostle sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said,

“A prostitute was forgiven by Allh, because, passing by a panting dog near a well and seeing that the dog was about to die of thirst, she took off her shoe, and tying it with her head-cover she drew out some water for it. So, Allh forgave her because of that.” [Sahh Al-Bukhari]

Leaving grey hair

Amr ibn Shu’aib related on the authority of his father from his grandfather that the Prophet sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said,

“Do not pluck the grey hairs as they are a Muslim’s light. Never a Muslim grows grey in Islam except that Allh writes for him, due to that, a good deed. And he raises him a degree. And he erases for him, due to that, one of his sins.” [Related by Ahmad, Ab Dawd, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah] And Anas said, “We used to hate that a man should pluck out his white hairs from his head or beard.” [Sahh Muslim]

Some simple supplications through which we can erase our sins, Insha’Allh!

Narrated Ab Huraira radhiAllhu `anhu: Allh’s Apostle said,

“Whoever says, ‘Subhan Allh wa bihamdihi,’ one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.” [Sahh Al-Bukhari]

Narrated Ab Huraira radhiAllhu `anhu: Allh’s Apostle sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said,

“Whoever says: ‘La ilaha illal-lah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu-l-mulk wa lahu-l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shai’in qadir,’ one hundred times will get the same reward as given for manumitting ten slaves; and one hundred good deeds will be written in his accounts, and one hundred sins will be deducted from his accounts, and it (his saying) will be a shield for him from Satan on that day till night, and nobody will be able to do a better deed except the one who does more than he.” [Sahh Al-Bukhari]

Narrated Ab Hurayrah radhiAllhu `anhu: Allh’s Apostle sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam said:

If anyone extols Allh after every prayer thirty-three times [SubhanAllh], and praises Allh thirty-three times [Alhamdulillah], and declares His Greatness thirty-three times [Allh hu Akbar], ninety-nine times in all, and say to complete a hundred: “There is no god but Allh, having no partner with Him, to Him belongs sovereignty and to Him to praise due, and He is Potent over everything,” his sins will be forgiven even if these are as Abndant as the foam of the sea. [Sahh Muslim]

Ab Hurairah radhiAllhu `anhu reported that the Prophet, sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam, said,

“If anyone sits in an assembly where there is much clamor and says before getting up to leave, “Subhanaka Allhumma wa bihamdika, ashadu an-la illaha illa-anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayka” (Glory be to You, O Allh, and I begin with declaring all praise is due to You, I testify that there is no god but You; I ask Your pardon and turn to You in repentance), he will be forgiven any sin that he might have committed while in that assembly. [Tirmidhi and Al-Baihaqi, (Kitab ad-D’wat Al-kabir)]

Mu’adh b. Anas radhiAllhu `anhu reported that the Prophet, sallAllhu `alayhi wa sallam, said,

“If anyone wears a new garment and says, “Alhamdu lillahillazi kasaabi hazaa wa razakabehi min ghairi hawlin minna walaa kuwwata” ‘All praise be to Allh, Who clothed me with this garment and provided it for me, with no power or strength from myself’ Allh will forgive all his previous sins.” [Ab Dawd, At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Maajah] Continue reading

Exhortation of Predecessors to Taqwa

Ehortation of Predecssors to Taqwa

My dear Muslim brothers and sisters! You should be informed that the predecessors – always exhorted one another towards taqwa.

Abu Bakr radhiallahu `anhu used to say in his khutba: ‘I advise you to observe taqwa and to praise Allah as He deserves to be praised. Mix hope and fear and combine importunity with asking (for help). Allah has promised Zakariyah `alayhis salaam and his family:

The status of prayer in Islam

Praise be to Allaah.
Prayer occupies a great status in Islam that is not shared by any other act of worship. This is indicated by the following:
1 It is the pillar of the religion, which cannot stand without it.
According to a hadeeth narrated by Muaadh ibn Jabal (may Allaah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Shall I not tell you of the head of the whole matter and its pillar and top? I [Muaadh] said, Yes, O Messenger of Allaah. He said, The head of the matter is Islam, its pillar is prayer and its top is jihad. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2616; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 2110.
2 It is second in status to the Shahaadatayn (twin testimony of faith) as further proof of the soundness of a persons belief and as visible evidence of the beliefs that reside in the heart.
The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Islam is built on five [pillars]: the testimony that there is no god but Allaah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, establishing prayer, paying zakaah, performing pilgrimage to the House, and fasting Ramadaan. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 8; Muslim, 16.
Establishing prayer means performing prayer in full with all its words and actions, at the appointed times, as it says in the Quraan (interpretation of the meaning):
Verily, As-Salaah (the prayer) is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours
[al-Nisa 4:103]
i.e., at defined times.
3 Prayer occupies a special position among other acts of worship because of the way in which it was enjoined.
It was not brought down to earth by an angel, rather Allaah wanted to bless His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) by taking him up to heaven and addressing him directly concerning the obligation of prayer. This is something that is unique to prayer among all the rituals of Islam.
Prayer was enjoined on the night of the Miraaj [Prophets ascent to heaven], approximately three years before the Hijrah.
Fifty prayers (per day) were enjoined at first, then the number was reduced to five, but the reward of fifty remains. This is indicative of Allaahs love of prayer and its great status.
4 Allaah erases sins by means of prayer
Al-Bukhaari (528) and Muslim (667) narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said and in the hadeeth of Bakr it is narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say What do you think if there was a river by the door of any one of you and he bathed in it five times a day, would there be any trace of dirt left on him? They said, No trace of dirt would be left on him. He said, That is like the five daily prayers, by means of which Allaah erases sin.
5 Prayer is the last part of religion to be lost, and if it is lost the whole religion is lost.
It was narrated that Jaabir ibn Abd-Allaah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Between a man and shirk [associating others with Allaah] and kufr [disbelief] there stands his giving up prayer. Narrated by Muslim, 82.
Hence the Muslim should be keen to perform the prayers on time, and not be lazy or take the matter lightly. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
So woe unto those performers of Salaah (prayers) (hypocrites),
Those who delay their Salaah (prayer from their stated fixed times)
[al-Maaoon 107:4-5]
And Allaah warns those who cause their prayers to be lost by saying (interpretation of the meaning):
Then, there has succeeded them a posterity who have given up As-Salaat (the prayers) [i.e. made their Salaat (prayers) to be lost, either by not offering them or by not offering them perfectly or by not offering them in their proper fixed times] and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell
[Maryam 19:59]
6 Prayer is the first thing for which a person will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection:
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: The first deed for which a person will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be his prayer. If it is good then he will have prospered and succeeded, but if it is bad then he will be doomed and have lost. If anything is lacking from his obligatory prayers, the Lord will say, Look and see whether My slave did any voluntary prayers, and make up the shortfall in his obligatory prayers from that. Then all his deeds will be dealt with likewise. Narrated by al-Nasaai, 465; al-Tirmidhi, 413. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami, 2573.
We ask Allaah to help us to remember Him, give thanks to Him and to worship Him properly.
Reference: al-Salaah by Dr. al-Tayyaar, p. 16; Tawdeeh al-Ahkaam by al-Bassaam, 1/371; Taareekh Mashrooiyyat al-Salaah by al-Balooshi, p. 31.
Islam Q&A

Praise be to Allaah.

Prayer occupies a great status in Islam that is not shared by any other act of worship. This is indicated by the following:

According to a hadeeth narrated by Muaadh ibn Jabal (may Allaah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Shall I not tell you of the head of the whole matter and its pillar and top? I [Muaadh] said, Yes, O Messenger of Allaah. He said, The head of the matter is Islam, its pillar is prayer and its top is jihad. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2616; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 2110

Prophetic Prayer or Imam’s Prayer ?

_______________________________

I found this book on internet and i read it, so i found many wrong things in it and i think the
author of this book has mistaken intentionally or not (Allah knows best). But here i like
to discuss it.
It can be found here :
http://www.masud.co.uk/ISLAM/misc/salaah.htm#4.3

The Author states :

INTRODUCTON

Very often the following question is posed to many people: “Do you follow the Deen of Imaam Abu Hanifa (R.A.) or the Deen of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)?” “Obviously the Deen of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam),” comes the instant reply. The second question is then posed: “Why then do you call yourself a Hanafi?” The person not well versed is perplexed by this question. Doubts are then created in his mind. He soon starts gradually drifting towards the abandoning of taqleed i.e. following one of the four illustrious Imaams viz. Imaam Abu Hanifa (R.A.), Imaam Shafi’i (R.A.), Imaam Malik (R.A.) and Imaam Ahmad bin Hanbal (R.A.).

By means of the type of questions that have been mentioned above, a deliberate attempt is made to create a misconception in the minds of the unwary that if you are a Hanafi, you are following the Deen of Imaam Abu Hanifa (R.A.), NOT the Deen of Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). This is an absolute fallacy. Imaam Abu Hanifa (R.A.), Imaam Shafi’i (R.A.) and the other Imaams did not invent any Deen of their own. They strictly followed the one and only Deen the Deen of Islam brought by Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Their followers are hence also following the same Deen the Deen of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

Why to Call ourselves, Hanafi?
Are not we ordered to call ourselves as Muslims?.

It is mentioned in Surah Zumar Chapter 39 Verse 12:

“And I am commanded to be the first of Muslims”

Secondly, We believe in Jesus Christ (P.B.U.H) but we don’t call ourselves as Christians.
Even if Moses (p) were alive he would be following Prophet Muhammad (s). That’s what the
Imam Abu Hanifah (rah) said that “If any of his fatwa contradicts the Quran and Sahih Hadith
Throw it on the wall”
The author stated clearly that the Imams didn’t invent their own Deen. So we are obliged to follow
the Deen of RasulAllah (s). So if anything contradicts with Prophet (s) we have to leave it as the 4 Imams said.

I like to also mention People accuses that The narrators of Bukhari and Muslim, which are the 2 Sahihs after the Qur’an and there is consensus on it, that the narrators of it were doing Taqlid of the Imams. This is a Blattant lie.

Ibn e Hazm has wrote several narrators of Bukhari and Muslim, who didn’t done taqleed :

Ahmad bin Hanbal, Isaq bin Rahuya, Abu Abid, Abu Khaisma, Mohammad Bin Yahya Al-Zahali, Abu Bakr Bin Abi Shaiba, Usmain Bin Abi Shaiba, Saeed Bin Mansoor, Qutaiba, Masrad, Al-Fazal Bin Dakain, Mohammad Bin Al-Masni, Ibn-e-Numair, Muhammad Bin Alay, Sulaiman Bin Harb, Yahya Bin Saeed Al-Qaatan, Abdur Rahman Bin Mahdi, Abdur Razzaq, Waqi, Yahya Bin Adam, Ibn e Al-Mubarak, Muhammad Bin Jafar, Ismail bin Aliya, Affan, Abu Assam Al-Nabeel, Lais Bin Saad, Awzai, Sufyan Suri, Hamd Bin Ziad, Hasshim, Ibn e Ibi Zaib others and I.

[Al Rad Ali Man Al-Khald Ali Al-Radh Al-Suyuti Page 136,137]

There is no valid proof that there was even a single narrator of Bukhari and Muslim, was a Muqalid.

Then author went on to prove that we have to Follow one Imam:

Why Follow an Imam?

The question that arises here is that why then should one follow any of the four Imaams? This can be answered by posing a counter-question: “Do you know all the various laws of Deen? Are you capable of extracting and deriving the laws pertaining to wudhu, salaah, zakaah, etc. directly from the Qur’an and Hadith? Do you know which Hadith has abrogated another? Do you have the ability to reconcile between the various Ahadith which apparently contradict each other? Do you know which verses of the Qur’an are general in their application and which verses are qualified by other texts? etc., etc.” If one does not have the knowledge of these aspects, then one definitely does not have the ability to derive the laws directly from the Qur’an and Hadith. In that case the following aayah applies directly to oneself: “Ask those of knowledge if you do not know.” (43:7) Hence when we do not have the enormous amount of knowledge and expertise that is necessary to derive the laws directly from the Qur’an and Hadith, we have opted to follow one of those great people who had attained that distinguished mastery in this field, among whom is Imaam Abu Hanifa (R.A.). Imaam Abu Hanifa (R.A.) is a Taabi’i (one who has seen a Sahabi). He attained the knowledge of Hadith from approximately 4000 ustaads. His piety was such that for 40 years he performed fajr salaah with the wudhu of Isha salaah (i.e. he did not sleep the entire night) [Tareekhul Baghdad]. His knowledge, brilliance and righteousness was such that all the great scholars of his time attested to his mastery. Thus one can be well assured that such a person is absolutely capable of deriving the laws directly from the Qur’an and Hadith.

A counter question from our side, Since Talqeed is for a Layman and are you capable of understanding big Fiqh of Abu Hanifah (rah), which is only attributed to him. How can you do talqeed of Him when he had died, Now you’re also not capable of understand Fiqh (almost the Madarsas of Hanafis teach Fiqh in 6 or 8 years) He didn’t write any single book, or had he done the Tafsir of which Ayat ? or Commentary of any Hadith ?. Obviously a layman through whom the Hanafis try to prove taqleed, how can he understand himself Fiqh. Obviously he will consult a scholar, now when he is consulting a scholar it will not called as Taqleed. Because If he consults a Muqallid Scholar he can’t be a Muqalid of a Muqalid. Asking someone is not talqeed, So why shouldn’t he consult a Scholar of Quran and Sunnah rather than a Muqalid. And when that scholar is capable of understanding Fiqh, then why can’t he understand Quran and Hadith. These all are just lame excuses. We respect Abu Hanifah (rah) because he was amongst the Salaf but no one even his students didn’t called him Muhaddith. So there is no book available of Abu Hanifah how he will do Taqleed? or Understand himself the contradictory Fiqh?. In both the cases he has to consult the Scholar, so he should consult the scholar of Quran and Sunnah.

If such was the case, then why only Imam Abu Hanifah (rah) get the this oppurtunity of whom taqlid to be done? Why didn’t he mentioned in his life that People should do his taqlid. Rather he prohibited from it :
When Imam Abu Hanifa (rahimaullah) was asked about to do taqleed of Tabaen
He replied : “I cannot do taqleed of a Tabaen, It is harram and he is a human being like us he could make mistakes”
(Nur-ul-Anwer Page#219, Publisher Yusufi) It is a Hanafi Fiqh Book.

When Imam Abu Hanifah was not aware of the Deen of whom he was doing taqlid amongst the 4000 of this teachers (as the author stated)? But this is a blattant lie as mentioned above that Imam Abu Hanifah didn’t do taqlid.
A Layman has to ask the People of the Knowledge with the reference that where such and such it is mentioned. As mentioned in the Qur’an “Ask those of knowledge if you do not know” (43:7)
If a Layman follows by asking scholar from the references of Quran and Sunnah it is not taqlid :

Qazi Muhammad Ali Thanvi Hanafi (dH 1191) :
To follow Rasul (s) and Ijma is not taqleed, and similarly following of a common man to any Mujtahid (his Jirra) and a Qazi’s decision due to witnesses proof is not taqleed
[ Kashf Astalahat Al-Funoon Volume 2 Page 1178 ]

But the least he can do, he can ask from the Ahle-ilm, otherwise why didn’t Imam Abu Hanifah when he was a layman didn’t done taqlid or anyone before him?.

But “Follow Allah ans His Rasul” (3:32) and “if you differ then again refer to Allah and His Rasul” (4:59) That’s why Imam Abu Hanifah (rah) said i don’t taqlid and throw my fatwa if it contradicts Quran and Sahih Hadith. Otherwise the people which has been described as the best generation would be the first who were doing taqlid but it is refuted from the Hanafi Scholar itself:

Shah Waliullah Dehalwi said :

For the first two centuries of the Hijra era people were not aware of any Madhhab, as fact of the matter, no Maddhab existed at that time. For that reason nobody knew any Madhhab and did not follow anyone except Allah’s Messenger, Venerable companions of Allah’s Messenger, the Tabaen and the succeeding generation of the Tabaen followed their consensus and [red]did not follow any individual[/red]. So anybody who ignores the consensus and opts all the sayings, verdicts and views of any one Imam and does not try to search and confirm it from the two basic resources i.e Quran and Sunnah, is acting against the tenets of faith. Such a person has gone astray from the right path of Islam.”

[ Insaf Fi Bayan Asbab Al-Ikhtilaf ]

People’s another accusation that Imam Bukhari, Imam Muslim and other Muhaddiths were Muqallids? Is it true let us look at this :

Shaykh Ul Islam Ibn-e-Taimiyah was asked that “Muhaddiths were muqallids of any of the Imam or they were not Muqallids, or they were Mujtahideens”

He replied : Bukhari and Abu Dawud were the Imams of Fiqh and Mujtahids (Mutalliq). And as for the Imam Muslim, Tirmidhi, Nisai, Ibn-e-Majah,Ibn e Khuzaima, Al-Bazar, Abu Ya’ali and others were on the Madhab of Ahlul-Hadith. From the ulema they were not doing taqleed of anyone, not were the Muqallideens, neither they were Mujtahid Muttaliq. ( Majmoa Al-Fatawa Volume 20 Page#20 )

And Some of the later people who put with themselves Shafae, Hanbali, Maliki, Hanafi etc. It was due to their Ijtihad Ibn-e-Taimiyah was a Hanbali and His Student Ibn-e-Al Qayim (rah) but they were not doing Taqlid, Ibn-e-Kathir (rah) was Ibn-e-Taimiya’s student but he was Shafae, how could it be that a Shafae makes his teacher a Hanbali. Ibn-e-Taimiya was severe against the Taqlid. As the 4 Imams Prohibited.

“We are not the muqallids of Shafae, but rather our opinion has become same to their opinion (Due to Ijtihad).”

Abu Bakr Al-Kafal Shafae, Abu Ali Shafae and Qazi Hussain Shafae

( Taqreerat Al-Rafi Volume 1 Page 11 , Taqreer Wa Al Tahbeer Volume 3 Page 253 )

There is no valid proof from any Past Scholar (Salaf As Saliheen) who said that we are Muqallids.

The Author went on to says :
Another reason for adopting one of the Imaams as a guide is the following aayah of the Qur’an: Allah Ta’ala says: “And follow the path of those who turn to me” (31:15).

My Counter Question:
Does Allah swt here indicating to follow their Path or Follow them ?
Their Path was, as Imam Abu Hanifah (rah) stated “When a Hadith is found to be Sahih then it is my Madhhab”
So my dear Hanafi Brothers this was the saying of Imam Abu Hanifah and his clear path.

Then the Author went on to says :
Once Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) had just returned from a battle when he ordered the Sahaaba (radhiallahu anhum) to immediately proceed to the place of Banu Quraizah a clan of Jews who lived on the outskirts of Madina Munawwarah. The purpose was to lay a siege upon them for having broken the pact that they had made with the Muslims. In order to impress the urgency of the matter upon the Sahaaba (R.A.), Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said to them: “None of you should perform your salaah al-Asr except in Banu Quraizah.”

While the Sahaaba (R.A.) were still en-route, the time of Asr arrived. Some Sahaaba (radhiallahu anhum) felt that they should perform their Asr immediately. They regarded the instruction of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) as actually being a command to proceed very swiftly to their destination. It did not imply that the Asr salaah could not be performed en-route. They thus performed their salaah there. Another group of Sahaaba (radhiallahu anhum.) viewed the instruction literally. They therefore continued and only performed their Asr salaah after having reached Banu Quraizah. Later when Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was informed about this, he did not rebuke either group. [Sahih Bukhaari]

And he proves from this hadith Taqlid.

My first question ?

If the author wants to prove taqlid, then he has to prove that “Taqlid is without Proof” so here both the parties have the Proof.
So this is not taqlid, and none of the Salaf took the meaning of this hadith for doing taqlid but rather this is the Ijtehad.
Because in Ijtehad both the parties have got Proof. And here both have Proof.
If the Prophet wouldn’t have told both the parties they would have done Taqlid.

Secondly Taqlid of Rasul cannot be done (From Hanafi Scholars):

Ibn e Hamam Hanafi (dh 861) :
“Taqleed is called the pratice of someone’s verdict without proof, of whom’s statement is not amongst the proof, Only following Prophet (s) and a thing amongst Ijma (Consensus) is not Taqleed” [ Tahreer Ibn e Hamam Fil Alim Al-Usool Vol#3 Page#253 ]

This hadith proves the Ijtihad, as it is proven from other hadiths:

Narrated Mu’adh ibn Jabal: Some companions of Mu’adh ibn Jabal said: When the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) intended to send Mu’adh ibn Jabal to the yemen, he asked: How will you judge when the occasion of deciding a case arises? He replied: I shall judge in accordance with Allah’s Book. He asked: (What will you do) if you do not find any guidance in Allah’s Book? He replied: (I shall act) in accordance with the Sunnah of the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him). He asked: (What will you do) if you do not find any guidance in the Sunnah of the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) and in Allah’s Book? He replied: I shall do my best to form an opinion and I shall spare no effort. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) then patted him on the breast and said: Praise be to Allah Who has helped the messenger of the Apos
tle of Allah to find something which pleases the Apostle of Allah. (Book #24, Hadith #3585) This hadith is also mentioned in Tirmidhi and Bahayqi.

This hadith proves Ijtihad, Ijtihad is only done when a thing is not found in Qur’an and Sunnah. But what about the things which clearly contradicts Quran and Sunnah ?. Otherwise Prophet (s) would have forbidden him.

Here the author deliberately try to proves the Difference is a mercy amongst the Abu Hanifa, Maliki etc.

Let us look at the difference amongst the Sahabas, which was against the saying of Prophet (S), not that both were with Proofs as in the hadith of Bukhari:

Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I fear that stones will descend upon you from the sky, that I say to you that the Messenger of Allah said; and you say to me that Abu Bakr and Umer say something else.

[Related by Imaam Ahmed (no.3121), al-Khateeb in al-Faqeeh wal-Muttafaqqih (1/145) )

The author try to prove ask One Imam and follow only him, however it is contrary to what the Companions followed:
Regarding Companions:

It is mentioned in Fawaateh ar-Rahmoot Sharh Muslim ath-Thaboot,
“The Companions are unanimously agreed that whoever
asks Abu Bakr and Umar (radi-Allaahu ‘anhumaa) about
any issue then he should also ask Abu Hurairah and
Mu’aadh Ibn Jabal (radi-Allaahu ‘anhumaa) and he should
act accordingly without considering this to be
inappropriate.”

Neither it is obligatory to do Taqlid :

Mulla Alee Qaaree Hanafee said,
Allaah has not obligated upon anyone that he become a hanafee, shaafi’ee, maalikee or a hanbalee, rather Allaah has obligated action upon the sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (Sallalahu Alayhee Was-Sallam) upon everyone.” (Sharh Ain al-Ilm (p.326).

It is enough to refute the author’s persuing on Taqlid.

Now i will move onto the things which contradicts the Quran and Sahih Hadith:

About This Book
Initially a very detailed book on this topic was written in urdu by Sheik Muhammad Ilyas Faisal of Madina Munawwarah. A concise version was later published. This is the english rendering of the concise version which was translated by Moulana Abdul Qadir Vawda of Madrasah Taaleemuddeen. Some additions and alterations have been made where it was deemed appropriate. It must also be pointed out that every narration quoted in this booklet is highly authentic and of such a category which, according to the muhadditheen, can be used to derive the laws of Deen from it. May Allah Ta’ala accept this humble effort and make it a means of assisting in our salvation on the day of Qiyaamah. Aameen.

Pay heed on the sentence that “It must also be pointed out that every narration quoted in this booklet is highly authentic and of such a category which, according to the muhadditheen, can be used to derive the laws of Deen from it.”

This is a bllatant lie, which i will show InshAllah.

The Masnoon Method Of Wudhu
Hazrat Usman (radhiallahu anhu) once asked: “Should I not show you the manner in which Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) performed his wudhu?” Thereafter he performed wudhu in such a manner that he washed every limb thrice. [Sahih Muslim, ch. on wudhu, Hadith 23]

_______________________________

Washing Each Body-Part Once
Ibn ‘Abbaas (radhiAllaahu ‘anhu) said: Rasoolullah (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) made wudoo (washing each part) once. [Al-Bukhaaree (al Fath) 1/226].

Washing Each Body-Part Twice
59. ‘Abdullaah ibn Zaid narrates that the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) made wudoo (washing each part) twice. [Al-Bukhaaree (al Fath) 1/226].

All of them washing it by three times, two times and even one time are permissible.

_______________________________
Masah (passing wet fingers) Over The Nape.

Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Umar (radhiallahu anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Whoever performs wudhu and makes masah over his nape, he will be saved from wearing a necklace (of fire) around his neck on the the day of judgement”. The famous commentator of Sahih al-Bukhari, Allamah Ibn Hajar Asqalaani (R.A), writes in his book Talkheesul Habeer (vol. 1: p.92) that this narration is Sahih. Allamah Shawkani (R.A.) has also affirmed this in Naylul Awtaar (vol. 1, p.204).

This is a blattant lie, that Ibn-e-Hajar (rah) declared it Sahih.

This narration has been narrated by Al-Ruyani in “Al-Bahar” as metioned in Talkheesul Habeer 1/104, Al-Ruyani reads in the Juzz of Abu Al-Hussain Al Faris and Ibn-e-Faris narrated it with an unknown chain of Falih. Hafiz Ibn-e-Hajar (rah) said there is Sanad missing between Faris and Falih, which needs to be checked.

Can a hadith be Sahih without any Sanad ?.

And Imam Shawkwani (rah) in his Naylul Awtaar (1/246 or 1/204) has directed this narration towards “Amali” and “Sharh Al Tajrid” of Ahmad Bin Essa. And the Sanad of this narration contains “Al-Hussain Bin Alwan An Abi Khalid Al-Wasti”

This narrator is Kazzab (liar) and he used to forge hadiths.

Ibn-e-Moin and Imam Nasai said he is Kazzab. Salih Jazara said he used to forge hadiths.

Allam Ibn-e-Al Qayim (rah) rightly said :
“None of the hadith is Sahih with regards to making masah over nape” [ Zad Al Mad 1/195 ]

Hafiz Ibn-e-Hajar said “He is Matruk, Waki said he is Kazzab” [ Taqreeb Al-Tahzeeb 2/69, Al-Majmoa Sharh Al-Mazhab 1/489 ]

Performing Masah Over Ordinary Socks
(i.e. cotton, woolllen, polyester, etc.)

It is not permissible to make masah over ordinary socks (cotton, woollen, nylon, etc. i.e. all socks other than leather socks) in wudhu. There is no authentic narration sanctioning this practice. In the commentary of Tirmidhi, Tuhfatul Ahwazee, the famous Ahle Hadith scholar Allamah Mubarakpuri, has written that this practice of making masah on woollen, cotton, nylon socks and socks made from similar materials is not established from any authentic Hadith (vol. 1, pg.333). Many other high ranking scholars of the ghair muqallid sect (those who do not prescribe to taqleed) have refuted this practice and declared it as impermissible. (see fatawa Nazeeriah; 1:423)

It was narrated that al-Mugheerah ibn Shubah said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did wudoo and wiped over his socks and shoes. (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 92; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan al-Tirmidhi, no. 86)

The author of al-Qaamoos said: jawrab (socks) means something that is wrapped around the feet.

Abu Bakr ibn al-Arabi said: jawrab means a thin cover for the feet made of wool, worn to keep the feet warm.

It was narrated that Yahyaa al-Bakka said: I heard Ibn Umar saying, Wiping over the socks (jawrabayn) is like wiping over the leather slippers (khuffayn).

Al-Musannaf by Ibn Abi Shaybah, 1/173

Ibn Hazm said: wiping over anything that is worn on the feet of things that are permitted to be worn and which come up above the ankles is Sunnah, whether they are slippers (khuffayn) made of leather or felt or wood, or socks made of linen, wool, cotton, camel hair or goat hair, whether leather is worn over them or not, or whether they are overshoes or slippers worn over slippers or socks worn over socks.

Al-Muhalla, 1/321

Some scholars differed as to whether it is permissible to wipe over the slippers (khuffaayn). The correct view as indicated by the evidence is that it is permissible to do that, as state
d above.

And Allaah knows best.

Prescribed time for Salah :

Abu Dharr reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said to me: How would you act when you are under the rulers who would delay the prayer beyond its prescribed time, or they would make prayer a dead thing as far as its proper time is concerned? I said: What do you command? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Observe the prayer at Its proper time.

[ Sahih Muslim Book 004, Number 1353, Musnad e Ahmad 5/137, Abu Dawud 134, Tirmidhi 176, Sunan Nisai 2/75, Ibn e Majah 1256, Ibn e Khuzaima 1637, Abu Awana 4/448, Ibn e Hibban 1482, Abdur Razzaq 3780, Bahayqi 2/301 ]

Narrated Umm Farwah:

The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) was asked: Which of the actions is best? He replied: Observing prayer early in its period. [ Sunan Abu Dawud Book 2, Number 0426, Tirmidhi 100, Al-Mishkat 607 Allama Albani (rah) declared it to be Sahih ]

Surah Nisa : 4 : 103
Worship at fixed times hath been enjoined on the believers.

Masnoon Time For Zuhr Salaah

Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has said: “When the heat becomes very intense (after mid-day), then delay the zuhr salaah until it cools down, for verily the intensity of the heat is from the effects of Jahannam”. [Sahih Muslim, Hadith 615]

Chapter 75: DESIRABILITY OF SAYING THE NOON PRAYER WHEN THE EXTREME HEAT IS OVER
Book 004, Number 1282:

Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) said: When it is very hot, say (the noon prayer) when the extreme beat passes away, for intensity of beat is from the exhalation of Hell.

Book 004, Number 1283:

Another hadith like this has been transmitted by Abu Huraira.

Book 004, Number 1284:

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: When it is a hot day, (delay) the prayer till the extreme heat passes away, for the intensity of heat is from the exhalation of Hell.

Bukhari :

Volume 1, Book 10, Number 510:

Narrated Abu Huraira and ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar:

Allah’s Apostle said, “If it is very hot, then pray the Zuhr prayer when it becomes (a bit) cooler, as the severity of the heat is from the raging of the Hell-fire.”

It is to be done on a hot day, this is the view of Jamhur.

Bukhari Volume 1, Book 10, Number 516:

Narrated Abu Al-Minhal:
He used to offer the Zuhr prayer as soon as the sun declined (at noon).

Masnoon Time For Asar

It was the noble habit of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) that he used to delay the performance of asar so long as the sun remained white and clear. [Abu Daud; Waqtul Asr]

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah’s Apostle used to offer the ‘asr prayer at a time when the sun was still hot and high and if a person went to Al-‘Awali (a place) of Medina, he would reach there when the sun was still high. Some of Al-‘Awali of Medina were about four miles or so from the town. (Book #10, Hadith #525)

Sahih Muslim Book 004, Number 1301:

‘Ala’ b. ‘Abd al-Rahman reported that they came to the house of Anas b. Malik in Basra after saying the noon prayer. His (Anas) house was situated by the side of the mosque. As revisited him he (Anas) said: Have you said the afternoon prayer? We said to him: It is just a few minutes before that we finished the noon prayer. He said: Offer the afternoon prayer. So we stood up and said our prayer. And when we completed it, he said: I have heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) saying: This is how the hypocrite prays: he sits watching the sun, and when it is between the horns of devil, he rises and strikes the ground four times (in haste) mentioning Allah a little during it.

Prophetic Prayer or Imam’s Prayer?.

Prophetic Prayer or Imam’s Prayer ?

A reply to the book named :

Aspects of the Salaat
with evidences used by the Hanafi Madhhab
Sifatus Salaah The Method of Salaah in the Light of
Authentic Ahadith
Shaikh Muhammad Ilyas Faisal,
Madina al-Munawwara

How the author came to know that the Fiqh of Imam Abu Hanifah (rah) is proven from Qur’an and Sunnah, when he himself a Muqalid. And if he has the ability to search hadiths and scrutnizing it then why he is doing taqlid?.

The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) then patted him on the breast and said: Praise be to Allah Who has helped the messenger of the Apostle of Allah to find something which pleases the Apostle of Allah.

Let us see what Ibn-e-Hajar (rah) said :

This narration has been narrated by Al-Ruyani in “Al-Jabhar” as metioned in Talkheesul Habeer 1/104 (the version we have) or 1/92 as the author described, Al-Ruyani reads in the Juzz of Abu Al-Hussain Al Faris and Ibn-e-Faris narrated it with an unknown chain of Falih.

Ibn-e-Mean and Imam Nasai said he is Kazzab. Salih Jazara said he used to forge hadiths.

Hafiz Ibn-e-Hajar said “He is Matruk, Waki said he is Kazzab” [ Taqreeb Al-Tahzeeb 2/69, Al-Majmoa Sharh Al-Mazhab 1/489 ]

Allam Ibn-e-Al Qayim (rah) rightly said :
“None of the hadith is Sahih with regards to making masah over nape” [ Zad Al Mad 1/195 ]

Ruling on shaving the beard

First Fatwa
Is there any recommended length of the beard?

is there any recommended length of the beard traceable from Prophet Muhammad SAAW

Praise be to Allaah.

There is no recommended or specified length of the beard, because nothing to that effect has been narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). What has been reported is that the beard should be left as it is.

Muslim (2344) reported that Jaabir ibn Samurah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to have a very hairy beard.

An-Nisaa (5232) reported from al-Baraa that he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had a thick beard; according to another report, he had a bushy beard; according to another report, he had a wide beard.

Some scholars permit cutting the hair of the beard that exceeds the amount that may be grasped in the fist, because Ibn Umar did this; but most of the scholars regard this as makrooh, which is more apparent because of the reports referred to above.

Al-Nawawi said: the best is to leave it as it is and not touch it or shorten it at all. (Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi, 8/39).

– As for the hadeeth, He used to reduce the length and width (of his beard) this is a false and fabricated hadeeth.

See al-Ilal al-Mutanaahiyah by Ibn al-Jawzi, 2/686

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

Indeed in the Messenger of Allaah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes for (the Meeting with) Allaah and the Last Day [al-Ahzaab 33:21]

And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it). [al-Hashr 59:7]

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen (may Allaah preserve him) said: The definition of the beard as stated by the scholars of (Arabic) language is: the hair of the face, jawbone and cheeks, in the sense that all the hair on the cheeks, jawbone and chin is part of the beard and removing any of it is counted as a sin, because the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Let your beards grow, Leave your beards alone, Let your beards increase, Let your beards be full. This indicates that it is not permissible to remove anything from the beard. But the sin may vary in degree shaving the beard is worse than shortening it, because it is a more obvious contradiction of the Sunnah.

For more information, see Question # 1189.

And Allaah knows best

Islam Q&A
Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid
Second Fatwa
Ruling on shaving the beard

What is the ruling on shaving the beard or removing part of it?

Praise be to Allaah.

Shaving the beard is haraam because of the saheeh ahaadeeth that clearly state this, and because of the general application of texts that forbid resembling the kuffaar. One of these reports is the hadeeth of Ibn Umar who said that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Be different from the mushrikeen: let your beards grow and trim your moustaches. According to another report: Trim your moustaches and let your beards grow. There are other hadeeth which convey the same meaning, which is to leave the beard as it is and let it grow long, without shaving, plucking or cutting any part of it. Ibn Hazm reported that there was scholarly consensus that it is an obligation (fard) to trim the moustache and let the beard grow. He quoted a number of ahaadeeth as evidence, including the hadeeth of Ibn Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) quoted above, and the hadeeth of Zayd ibn Arqam in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever does not remove any of his moustache is not one of us. (Classed as saheeh by al-Tirmidhi). Ibn Hazm said in al-Furoo: This is the way of our colleagues [i.e., the Hanbalis].

Is it haraam (to shave it)? Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: The Quraan, Sunnah and ijmaa (scholarly consensus) all indicate that we must differ from the kuffaar in all aspects and not imitate them, because imitating them on the outside will make us imitate them in their bad deeds and habits, and even in beliefs, which will result in befriending them in our hearts, just as loving them in our hearts will lead to imitating them on the outside. Al-Tirmidhi reported that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, He is not one of us who imitates people other than us. Do not imitate the Jews and Christians. According to another version: Whoever imitates a people is one of them. (Reported by Imaam Ahmad) Umar ibn al-Khattaab rejected the testimony of the person who plucked his beard. Imaam Ibn Abd al-Barr said in al-Tamheed: It is forbidden to shave the beard, and no one does this except men who are effeminate i.e., those who imitate women. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had a thick beard (reported by Muslim from Jaabir). It is not permitted to remove any part of the beard because of the general meaning of the texts which forbid doing so.

Weakness of Faith!

Weakness of Faith

English Translation

Book by Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid

Contents

Introduction

Symptoms of weak faith

Causes of weak faith

Curing weak faith

Introduction

Praise be to Allaah, we praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and from our evil deeds. Whomever Allaah guides, none can lead astray, and whomever Allaah leaves astray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no god except Allaah alone, with no partner or associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. O you who believe! Fear Allaah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam (as Muslims), with complete submission to Allaah. [Aal Imraan 3:102 interpretation of the meaning].

O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam) and from him He created his wife (Hawwa), and from them both he created many men and women, and fear Allaah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allaah is Ever an All-Watcher over you. [al-Nisa 4:1 interpretation of the meaning]

O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allaah and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth. He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allaah and His Messenger, he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e., he will be saved from the Hell-fire and made to enter Paradise). [al-Ahzaab 33:70-71 interpretation of the meaning].

The phenomenon of weak faith has become very widespread among Muslims, and many people complain about the hardness of their hearts. So often we hear the words, I feel hardness in my heart, I do not find any joy in worship, I feel that my faith has hit rock bottom, Reading Quraan does not move me, I fall into sin so easily. The effects of this affliction can be seen in many people, and this problem is the cause of every disaster and adversity.

The issue of peoples hearts is an important and sensitive issue. The heart is called qalb in Arabic because it changes so quickly and frequently (taqallub alteration, variation, ups and downs). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The heart (qalb) takes its name from its constant changes (taqallub). The likeness of the heart is that of a feather at the root of a tree, being turned over and over by the wind. (Reported by Ahmad, 4/408;Saheeh al-Jaami, 2364). According to another report: The likeness of the heart is that of a feather in an empty plot of land, being blown over and over by the wind. (Reported by Ibn Abi Aasim in Kitaab al-Sunnah. No. 227. Its isnaad is saheeh, see Zilaal al-Jannah fi Takhreej al-Sunnah by al-Albaani, 1/102).

Mans heart changes constantly, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) described: The heart of the son of Adam changes more quickly than a pan of rapidly boiling water.(Ibid., no. 226. Its isnaad is saheeh: Zilaal al-Jannah, 1/102), According to another report: It changes more than a pot of rapidly boiling water.(Reported by Ahmad, 6/4; Saheeh al-Jaami, no. 5147).

Allaah is the One Who turns hearts around and controls them. Abd-Allaah ibn Amr ibn al-Aas reported that he heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: The hearts of the children of Adam are as one between the fingers of the Most Merciful, and He turns them in whatever way He wills. Then he said: O Allaah, Controller of the hearts, direct our hearts to obey You. (Reported by Muslim, no. 2654).

Allaah tells us that:

Allaah comes in between a person and his heart (i.e., He prevents an evil person from deciding anything) [al-Anfaal 8:24  interpretation of the meaning]

no one will be saved on the Day of Resurrection except him who brings to Allaah a clean heart [free from shirk and hypocrisy]. [al-Shuara 26:89 interpretation of the meaning]

those whose hearts are hardened [al-Hajj 22:53 interpretation of the meaning] are doomed

and the promise of Paradise is for those who feared the Most Beneficent (Allaah) in the Unseen, (i.e., in the worldly life, before seeing and meeting Him), and brought a heart turned in repentance (to Him). [Qaaf 50:33 interpretation of the meaning].

So the believer must check his heart, find out the nature and cause of the problem, and start treating it straight away, before it overwhelms him and destroys him. The matter is of the utmost seriousness, for Allaah has warned us against the heart that is hardened, closed, sick, blind and sealed.

There follows a discussion of the symptoms of weak faith, what causes it and how it may be treated. I ask Allaah to benefit me and my Muslim brothers through this work, and to richly reward all those who have played a part in producing this book, for He is the One Whom we ask to soften our hearts and guide us. He is our Protector, He is sufficient for us and He is the Best Disposer of affairs.

Symptoms of weak faith

There are a number of symptoms of the sickness of weak faith, including the following:

Falling into sin and committing haraam deeds: there are some sinners who commit a sin and persist in it, and some who commit many kinds of sin. When a person commits many sins, sin becomes a habit which he gets used to, and then he no longer feels that it is abhorrent. He gradually reaches a stage where he commits the sin openly, and thus becomes one of those referred to in the hadeeth: All of my ummah will be fine except for those who commit sin openly, an example of which is a man who does something at night, and when morning comes and Allaah has concealed his sin, he says, O So-and-so, I did such and such yesterday. His Lord had covered his sin all night, but he has uncovered what Allaah had concealed.(Reported by al-Bukhaari, Fath 10/486).

Feeling that ones heart is hard and rough. A man may feel that his heart has turned to stone which nothing can penetrate or reach. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): Then, after that, your hearts were hardened and became as stones or even worse in hardness [al-Baqarah 2:74]. The person whose heart is hard will not be moved by reminders of death or by seeing deceased persons or funerals. He may even carry a dead person to his grave and throw earth into the grave, but when he walks between the graves it is as if he is merely walking between rocks.

Not doing acts of worship properly. His mind wanders and he fails to concentrate properly when praying, reading Quraan, making duaa, etc. He does not think about what he is saying, and he recites the words as the matter of boring habit, if he does these regularly at all. If he has the habit of praying a certain duaa at certain times, according to the sunnah, he does not think about the meaning of what he is saying, and Allaah does not accept the duaa of one whose heart is heedless of Him. (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no. 3479; al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 594).

Laziness and carelessness in performing acts of worship. If he does them at all, they are just empty movements, devoid of any real feeling. Allaah has described the hypocrites thus (interpretation of the meaning):  and when they stand up for prayer, they stand up with laziness [al-Nisa 4:142]. This also includes neglecting to make the most of special occasions and times for worship. This indicates that a person has no interest in earning reward, so he may delay going for Hajj although he is able to do so, or fail to go for jihaad when he has the strength to do so, or fail to attend prayers in congregation, or even Salat al-Jumuah. The Messenger of Allaah(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: People will keep holding back from being in the first row (of congregational prayers), until Allaah throws them into the Fire. (Reported by Abu Dawood, no. 679; Saheeh al-Targheeb, no. 510). This kind of person does not feel any remorse or guilt if he sleeps and misses one of the obligatory prayers, or a sunnah prayer that is strongly encouraged, or a wird[regular duaa and dhikr]. He does not want to make it up later, and he deliberately omits doing anything that is sunnah or fard kifaayah (a duty which, if carried out by some of the people, is no longer obligatory on all, but if no-one does it, all are held accountable). So he may not attend Eid prayers (although some scholars say that they are obligatory), or offer the prayers to be said at the time of lunar and solar eclipses, or attend funerals. He does not care about reward at all, which is the opposite of the ideal described by Allaah in the Quraan (interpretation of the meaning):  they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us. [al-Anbiya 21:90]

Another example of laziness in performing acts of worship is the neglect of sunnah actions which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) performed regularly, and praying at night (qiyaam al-layl), setting out early to go to the mosque, and other naafil prayers, such as duhaa, never even occur to him, let alone the two-rakahs of tawbah (repentance) and istikhaarah.

Tightness in the chest, mood swings and depression, which weigh a man down and make him quick to complain about the slightest thing. He easily gets upset with the people around him, and no longer has any tolerance. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) described faith when he said, Eemaan is patience and tolerance (Al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, no. 554, 2/86), and he described the believer as being one who makes friends and with whom others feel comfortable. There is no goodness in one who does not make friends and with whom others do not feel comfortable. (Al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, no. 427).

Not being moved by the aayaat of the Quraan, by its promises of Paradise or its warnings of Hell, by its commands and prohibitions, or by its descriptions of the Day of Resurrection. The one who is weak in faith gets bored when he hears the Quraan being recited, and cannot continue reading it. Whenever he opens the mus-haf, he soon closes it again.

Not focusing on Allaah when remembering Him (dhikr) or making duaa, so dhikr becomes difficult for him, and when he raises his hands to make duaa, he quickly lowers them again. Allaah has described the hypocrites (interpretation of the meaning):  and they do not remember Allaah but little. [al-Nisa 4:142]

Not feeling angry when the limits set by Allaah are violated, because the flame of zeal has been extinguished in his heart, so he no longer takes action to stop evil, or enjoins evildoers to do good, or denounces wrongdoing. He never gets angry for the sake of Allaah. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) described this heart ravaged by weakness in the saheeh hadeeth: The heart will be subjected to trial after trial, and there will appear a black stain on any heart that is affected, which will spread until the heart is completely black and sealed, as it were, so that it will not recognize any good deed or denounce any evil, except whatever suits its own desires. (Reported by Muslim, no. 144).Love of good and hatred of evil have disappeared from a heart like this; all things are equal to such a person, and he has no motive to enjoin good or forbid evil. He may hear of some evil that is being done on earth, and may accept it; in this case he carries the same burden of sin as one who witnesses evil and approves of it, as the Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said in the saheeh hadeeth: If sin is committed on earth, the one who witnesses it and hates it [one time he said, denounces it] will be like one who knew nothing of it. Whoever does not witness it but approves of it will be like one who witnesses it. (Reported by Abu Dawood, no. 4345;Saheeh al-Jaami, 689). This approval, which is an action of the heart, makes him like one who witnessed the sin.

Love of fame and prominence, which may take many forms, including the following:

Desire for leadership without understanding the serious responsibility involved. This is what the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) warned us against when he said, You will be very keen to be leaders, but you will regret it on the Day of Resurrection, for although it seems easy in the beginning, it becomes a hardship later on [literally: the breastfeeding is a luxury but weaning is miserable]. (The meaning is that at the beginning, leadership brings wealth, power and enjoyment, but later it brings the risk of being assassinated or deposed, and one will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection).(Reported by al-Bukhaari, no. 6729). The Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also said: If you wish, I could tell you about leadership and what it is. Firstly, it is blame; secondly, it is regret; and thirdly, it is punishment on the Day of Resurrection except for one who is just. (Reported by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 18/72; Saheeh al-Jaami, 1420). If it were the case that a man wanted to carry out duties and responsibilities, where there is no one better for the job than him, with the intention of doing his best and being sincere and just, as Yusuf (peace be upon him) did, then we could say that this is fair enough. But in most cases it is the matter of a strong desire to lead and put oneself forward although there is a better person, denying the opportunity of leadership to those who are qualified and wanting to be the only one to issue instructions and prohibitions.

Loving to sit at the head of gatherings, to monopolize the discussion, to make others listen to ones words, and to have power. The head of a gathering is the slaughterhouse about which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) warned us when he said, Beware of these slaughterhouses. (Reported by al-Bayhaqi, 2/439; Saheeh al-Jaami, 120).

Loving to have people stand up when one comes into the room, because this makes the one whose heart is diseased feel great. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever feels happy to have the slaves of Allaah stand up for him, let him occupy his house in Hellfire. (Reported by al-Bukhaari in al-Adab al-Mufrad, 977; see also Silsilah al-Saheeh, 357).Once when Muaawiyah went out to see Ibn al-Zubayr and Ibn Aamir, Ibn Aamir stood up whilst Ibn al-Zubayr remained sitting (according to one report: and he [Ibn al-Zubayr] was wiser and more stable in character). Muaawiyah said to Ibn Aamir, Sit down, for I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, Whoever likes to have men stand up for him, let him take his place in Hellfire. (Reported by Abu Dawood, no. 5229, and by al-Bukhaari in al-Adab al-Mufrad, 977; al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 357). This kind of person will get angry if the sunnah is followed and people start from the right (and not with him, when passing out refreshments, etc.); when such a person enters a gathering, he will not be happy until someone gets up and gives him his seat, even though the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade this when he said, No man should make another get up from his place so that he can sit in it. (Reported by al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 11/62).

Stinginess and miserliness. Allaah praised the Ansaar in His Book by saying (interpretation of the meaning):  and [they] gave them [the muhaajiroon] preference over themselves, even though they were in need of that [al-Hashr 59:9]. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) explained that the successful are those who avoid miserliness, and that weakness of faith generates stinginess: Stinginess and faith never exist together in the heart of the believer. (Reported by al-Nisaai, al-Mujtaba, 6/13;Saheeh al-Jaami, 2678). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also described the serious nature of stinginess and its consequences: Beware of stinginess, for those who came before you were destroyed because of stinginess. It commanded them to be miserly, so they were miserly; it commanded them to cut family ties, so they cut them; and it commanded them to be immoral, so they were immoral. (Reported by Abu Dawood, 2/324; Saheeh al-Jaami, no. 2678). When it comes to miserliness, the person whose faith is weak can hardly give anything for the sake of Allaah, even when there is an honest appeal and it is quite obvious that his brothers in Islam are suffering the impact of poverty and are stricken by disaster. There is no more eloquent statement on the matter of miserliness than the words of Allaah (interpretation of the meaning):Behold! You are those who are called to spend in the Cause of Allaah, yet among you are some who are niggardly. And whoever is niggardly, it is only at the expense of his own self. But Allaah is Rich (Free of all wants), and you (mankind) are poor. And if you turn away (from Islam and the obedience of Allaah), He will exchange for you some other people, and they will not be your likes. [Muhammad 47:38].

Not practising what one preaches. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): O you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do? Most hateful is it with Allaah that you say that which you do not do. [al-Saff 61:2-3]. No doubt this is a kind of hypocrisy, and the person whose deeds do not match his words is blameworthy before Allaah and despicable in the eyes of his fellow man. The people of Hellfire will soon discover the reality of the one who enjoins good but does not do it, and forbids evil, but does it himself.

Malicious enjoyment of the failures, losses or disasters suffered by ones brothers in Islam, when the blessings that they had enjoyed are taken away, or when the thing that made another person appear more distinguished than him is gone.

Looking at matters in black-or-white terms of whether they are sinful or not, and taking the matter of makrooh lightly. Some people, when they want to do something, do not ask about what good deeds they could do, instead they ask, Will this be counted as a sin, or is it only makrooh? This way of thinking leads them into the trap of issues that are not clear-cut and deeds that are makrooh, and eventually ensnares them in haraam deeds. The person who thinks like this has nothing to stop him from committing makrooh or doubtful deeds so long as they are not actually haraam. This is exactly what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was talking about what he said , Whoever falls into doubtful matters falls into haraam, like a shepherd who grazes his flock around a place where he is not allowed he will soon enter it (Reported by al-Bukhaari and Muslim; this version narrated by Muslim, no. 1599).When some people ask for a fatwa about something and are told that it is haraam, they ask, Is it very haraam or not? How much sin is involved? People like this have no interest in avoiding bad deeds; indeed, they are prepared to commit the first level of haraam and they take small sins lightly, with the results that they they have the guts to transgress even further and violate the limits set by Allaah. For this reason the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: I will certainly recognize people who will come on the Day of Resurrection bringing good deeds as great as the white mountain of Tuhaamah, and Allaah, may He be glorified, will make it like dust in the air. Thawbaan said, O Messenger of Allaah, describe them to us and explain this so that we will not unwittingly be among them. He said, They are your brothers and they look like you. They pray at night as you do, but if they had the opportunity to violate the limits set by Allaah, they would do so. (Reported by Ibn Maajah, no. 4245. He said in al-Zawaaid: its isnaad is saheeh and its men are thiqaat. See also Saheeh al-Jaami, 5028).

So you will find such a person committing haraam deeds without any hesitation or reservation, which makes him worse than the one who does so after pausing and hesitating. Both are in danger, but the former is worse than the latter. This kind of person takes sins lightly as a result of his weakness of faith, and does not think that he has done anything wrong. For this reason, Ibn Masood (may Allaah be pleased with him) described the attitude of the believer and of the hypocrite as follows: The believer sees his sins as if he were sitting beneath a mountain which he fears will fall on him, whilst the sinner sees his sins as if it were a fly passing his nose and he says such-and-such to it i.e., he shoos it away with his hand.(Reported by al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 11/102; See also Taghleeq al-Taleeq, 5/136, publ. by al-Maktab al-Islami).

Thinking little of good deeds, and having no interest in doing small hasanaat. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) taught us to pay attention to small acts of goodness. Imaam Ahmad (may Allaah have mercy on him) reported from Abu Juray al-Hujaymi who said, I came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said, O Messenger of Allaah, we are a desert people. Teach us something by which Allaah, may He be blessed and exalted, will benefit us. He said, Do not look down on any act of goodness, even if it is just emptying your bucket into the vessel of one who wants to drink, or speaking to your brother with a cheerful expression. (Musnad Ahmad, 5/63; al-Silsilat al-Saheehah, 1352).If someone comes wanting to drink from the well, and you lift up your bucket and empty it for him, this is a good deed; even though it appears insignificant, you should not think little of it. The same applies to greeting your brother with a cheerful expression, and cleaning dirt and garbage from the mosque, even if it is as small as a straw. This deed may be the cause of your sins being forgiven, for Allaah will appreciate good deeds of this nature and will forgive sins because of them. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: A man passed a branch of a tree lying in the road and said, By Allaah, I want to remove this out of the way of the Muslims so that it will not hurt them, and he was admitted to Paradise.(Reported by Muslim, no. 1914).

There is something wrong with the person who thinks little of simple acts of goodness. It is sufficient punishment for this attitude that he is denied the great advantage described by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): Whoever removes something harmful from the path of the Muslims, one hasanah will be recorded for him, and whoever has a hasanah accepted, will enter Paradise. (Reported by al-Bukhaari in al-Adab al-Mufrad, no. 593; see also al-Silsilat al-Saheehah, 5/387). Muaadh was walking with another man, and he picked up a stone from the road. The man asked him, What is this? He said, I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, Whoever removes a stone from the road, one hasanah will be recorded for him, and whoever has a hasanah, will enter Paradise. (al-Mujam al-Kabeer by al-Tabaraani, 20/101; al-Silsilat al-Saheeh, 5/387).

Lack of concern about the Muslims affairs and lack of any involvement whether it be by making duaa, giving charity or helping them. Such a person has a cool attitude towards the oppression, suppression and disasters suffered by his Muslim brothers in other parts of the world, and is content merely with his own safety. This is the result of weak faith, because the believer is the opposite of that. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The believers position in relation to his fellow believers is like that of the head to the body; the believer feels the pain of his fellow believers as the body reacts to the pain suffered by the head. (Musnad Ahmad, 5/340; al-Silsilat al-Saheehah, 1137).

Breaking the ties of brotherhood between two who used to be close. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: No two people are friends for the sake of Allaah or in Islam, but they will be split apart by the first sin (according to another report: they will only be split apart by the first sin) committed by either of them. (al-Bukhaari, al-Adab al-Mufrad, no. 401; Ahmad, al-Musnad, 2/68; see also al-Silsilat al-Saheehah, 637). This indicates the bad effects which may impact upon and even destroy the bonds of brotherhood. This alienation which a man may feel between himself and his brother is a result of the lowering of faith caused by committing a sin, because Allaah causes him to lose his standing in the eyes of His slaves, and so he is in the miserable position of having no respect and misses out on the fellowship of the believers and the protection of Allaah, for Allaah protects those who believe.

Not feeling any responsibility to work for Islam and spread this religion, which is unlike the attitude of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who as soon as they entered this religion felt this responsibility straight away, for example, al-Tufayl ibn Amr (may Allaah be pleased with him), who became Muslim and went to call his people to Islam straight away. He was only a new Muslim but he felt that he had to go back and call his people to Islam, and he went and did this, yet nowadays many people wait for a long time after they become committed to Islam before they reach the stage of calling others to Allaah, may He be glorified.

The Companions of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), as a result of entering Islam, used to feel enmity towards the kuffaar, and they would disavow themselves of them and draw a clear line. When Thamaamah ibn Athaal (may Allaah be pleased with him), the chief of the people of al-Yamaamah, was taken prisoner, he was held in the mosque, and the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told him about Islam. Then Allaah caused the light of Islam to shine in his heart, and he became Muslim. He went for Umrah, and when he reached Makkah, he told the kuffaar of Quraysh, Not one grain of wheat will reach you from al-Yamaamah except with the permission of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).(Reported by al-Bukhaari, Fath, 8/78). This declaration of opposition to the kuffaar, imposition of economic sanctions and offer of all resources at his disposal to serve the cause of dawah all took place immediately, because strong faith demands action.

Fear and panic when disaster strikes or problems arise. So you will see such a person shaking and losing his equilibrium, with no focus, staring wild-eyed and having no idea what to do when faced with calamity. He is ruled by his fears and can see no way out; he cannot face reality with a strong and steady heart. All of this is the result of weak faith, for if his faith was strong he would be steadfast and he would face the worst disasters with calmness and strength.

Excessive arguing and disputing. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said in a saheeh hadeeth: No people will go astray after having being guided except that they become argumentative. (Reported by Ahmad in al-Musnad, 5/252; Saheeh al-Jaami, 5633). Arguing with no proof and for no good reason leads one far away from the Straight Path, and most of peoples futile arguments nowadays are conducted without knowledge or guidance or (reference to) a Book giving light (i.e., the Quraan). We have sufficient motive to avoid futile arguments in the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): I guarantee a house in the outskirts of Paradise to the one who forsakes argument even when he is in the right. (Reported by Abu Dawood, 5/150; Saheeh al-Jaami, 1464).

Attachment to this world and rejoicing in it. A person may be so attached to this world that he feels pain if he misses out on some share of it, such as money, power, authority, or housing. He feels that he is unfairly treated because he has not got what others have. He feels more stress when he sees a brother in Islam who has something of this world that he does not have, so he envies him (hasad) and wishes that he will lose that blessing. This goes against eemaan, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Eeman and hasad do not exist together in the heart of the true slave. (Reported by Abu Dawood, 5/150;Saheeh al-Jaami, 1464).

He talks and thinks in a purely rational manner, devoid of the characteristics of faith. There is hardly any trace of a reference to the Quraan and Sunnah, or the words of the salaf (the early generations of Islam may Allaah have mercy on them), in the way such a person speaks.

Going to extremes in the way one cares for oneself, in food, drink, clothing, housing and means of transportation. So you see these people showing excessive interest in luxuries, trying to be sophisticated, buying only the finest clothes, spending extravagant amounts on their choice of housing and spending too much time and money on such unnecessary adornments whilst their Muslim brothers are in the greatest need of that money. This carries on until they sink into the soft life of luxury which is forbidden, as is reported in the hadeeth of Muaadh ibn Jabal (may Allaah be pleased with him): when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) sent him to Yemen, he advised him: Beware of luxury, for the slaves of Allaah do not live a life of luxury. (Reported by Abu Naeem in al-Hilyah, 5/155; Silsilat al-Saheehah, 353. A similar version was also reported by Ahmad in al-Musnad, 5/243).

Causes of weak faith

There are many causes of weak faith, some of which are the same as the symptoms, such as committing sin or being preoccupied with this world. There follows a list of some additional causes:

Keeping away from a faith-filled environment for too long. This causes weak faith in a person. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe to be affected by Allaahs Reminder (this Quraan), and that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture before (i.e., Jews and Christians), and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened? And many of them were faasiqoon (rebellious, disobedient to Allaah). [al-Hadeed 57:16]. This aayah indicates that spending too much time away from a faith-filled environment leads to weakness of faith in the heart. For example, a person who stays away from his brothers in Islam for a long period, because of travel or work, etc., is going to miss the atmosphere of faith in which he was living and from which his heart gained its strength. The believer is weak on his own but strong with his brothers. Al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Our brothers are dearer to us than our families, for our families remind us of this world, but our brothers remind us of the Hereafter. If this absence goes on for too long, it creates alienation in the heart, which eventually changes into disdain for that faith-filled atmosphere, which in turn hardens the heart and fills it with darkness, extinguishing the light of eemaan. This explains the complete change of heart on the part of some who travel to other lands on vacation or who relocate for purposes of work or study.

Keeping away from the good example of righteous leaders. The person who learns from a righteous man gains beneficial knowledge, does a righteous deed and strengthens his eemaan at the same time; (that leader) takes care of him and passes on to him the knowledge, good morals and virtues that he has. If he keeps away from that teacher for some time, he begins to feel hardness in his heart. For this reason when the Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) died and was buried, his Sahaabah said, We looked at our hearts and felt that there had been a deep change. They felt alienated and lost because their teacher and example(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had died. According to some reports, they were described as being like sheep on a rainy winters night. But the Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) left behind great leaders, giants among men, all of whom were qualified to take up the reins of leadership, and some of them became examples to the others. But nowadays the Muslims are in desperate need of examples close at hand to them.

Failing to seek knowledge and to be acquainted with the books of the salaf (early generation) and religious books which will uplift and revive the heart. There are many kinds of books which the reader will feel stir up faith in his heart and motivate him to fulfil his spiritual potential, foremost among which is the Book of Allaah, may He be exalted, and the books of hadeeth, followed by the books of scholars who are good at writing about issues that soften the heart and who explain aqeedah (correct belief) in a manner that moves the soul and uplifts the heart, such as Ibn al-Qayyim and Ibn Rajab and others. By ignoring these books and reading only intellectual works, or books of fiqh rulings which do not quote their daleel (evidence), or books of grammar rules and usool (bases of aqeedah), is something that may have the effect of hardening the heart. This is not a criticism of those books per se, it is only a warning to the person who keeps away from books of Tafseer and hadeeth and hardly ever reads them, even though they are the books that bring one closer to Allaah. For example, when one reads al-Saheehayn (al-Bukhaari and Muslim), you feel the atmosphere of the age of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the Sahaabah, and you feel the breeze of eemaan by sharing the events that happened in their time.

The people of hadeeth are the people of the Messenger; even if they did not have the chance to be with him, they are with his words.

This problem keeping away from religious books clearly has an effect on those who study disciplines which have no connection with Islam, such as philosophy, psychology, social science, etc., disciplines which have been developed far away from Islamic teachings. The same applies to those who love to read fiction and love stories, or who follow worthless news stories in newspapers, magazines and so on.

Living in an environment that is filled with sin, so you see one boasting about his latest misdemeanour, another humming popular songs to himself, a third smoking, a fourth reading a pornographic magazine, a fifth cursing and swearing, and so on. As for talk about who said what to whom, gossip, backbiting and discussion about the latest football match, there is no end to it.

Some environments remind one only of this world, as is the case in most gatherings and work-places nowadays. Discussions about business, work, money, investments, work-related problems, raises, promotions, assignments and so on take precedence in the minds and speech of most people nowadays.

As for what goes on in the home there is a lot we can say about the disasters and evil deeds that cause the Muslim shame and hurt him deeply. Muslim homes are filled with shameless songs, vile movies, forbidden mixing of the sexes and so on. No doubt in such an environment hearts are stricken with the disease of hardness.

Preoccupation with this world, so that the heart is enslaved by it. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: He is doomed, the slave of the dinar and the slave of the dirham (Reported by al-Bukhaari, no. 2730), and, All that is sufficient for any one of you in this world is the supply of the traveller (reported by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 4/78; Saheeh al-Jaami, 2384)  meaning a little of something that will help him to reach his destination. This phenomenon (preoccupation with this world) is very apparent in our own times, when material greed and the desire to acquire more worthless worldly goods have become widespread, and people are now running after trade, manufacturing and shares. This confirms what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Allaah, may He be glorified, says: We have sent down wealth for the establishment of prayer and the payment of zakaat, but if the son of Adam has one valley, he will wish that he had a second, and if he had two valleys, he would wish that he had a third. The stomach of the son of Adam will be filled only with dust (i.e., he is never satisfied) then Allaah will accept the repentance of the one who repents. (Reported by Ahmad, 5/219; Saheeh al-Jaami, 1781).

Being preoccupied with ones wealth, wife and children. Allaah says (interpretation of the meanings): And know that your possessions and children are but a trial and that surely with Allaah is a mighty reward. [al-Anfaal 8:28]and, Beautified for men is the love of things they covet: women, children, much of gold and silver (wealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and well-tilled land. This is the pleasure of the present worlds life, but Allaah has the excellent return (Paradise). [Aal Imraan 3:14]. The meaning of these aayat is that if the love of these things, especially women and children, is given precedence over obedience to Allaah and His Messenger, then it is regarded as being bad, but if the love of these things is within the bounds of shareeah, it helps a man to obey Allaah and in this case it is praiseworthy. The Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: In this world, women and good scents have been made dear to me, but dearest of all to me is prayer. (Reported by Ahmad, 3/128; Saheeh al-Jaami, 3124). Many men follow their wives in doing haraam deeds, and allow their children to distract them from worshipping Allaah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Children are the cause of grief, cowardice, ignorance and miserliness.(Reported by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 24/241; Saheeh al-Jaami, 1990). When he said that they are the cause of miserliness, he meant that if a man wants to spend for the sake of Allaah, the Shaytaan reminds him of his children, so he thinks, My children deserve the money, I will leave it for them when I die, so he is miserly in the sense that he refrains from spending it for the sake of Allaah. When he said that children are the cause of cowardliness, he meant that when a man wants to fight in jihaad for the sake of Allaah, the Shaytaan comes to him and says, You will be killed and will die, and your children will become orphans, lost and alone, so he stays home and does not go out for jihaad. When he said that children are the cause of ignorance, he meant that they distract a father from seeking knowledge and trying to acquire learning by attending gatherings and reading books. When he said that children are the cause of grief, he meant that when a child gets sick, the parent feels grief; if the child asks for something that the father cannot provide, this grieves the father; and if the child grows up and rebels against his father, this is a cause of ongoing grief and distress.

This is not to say that one should forego marrying and having children; what is meant is that one should beware of becoming preoccupied with them and letting that lead one to commit haraam deeds.

Concerning the temptation of wealth, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Every nation has its fitnah (trial or temptation), and the fitnah of my ummah is wealth. (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 2336; Saheeh al-Jaami, 2148). Eagerness to acquire wealth is more damaging to a persons religion than the wolf who attacks the sheepfold. This is what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) meant when he said: Two hungry wolves sent against the sheep do not do more damage to them than a mans eagerness for wealth and standing does to his religion. (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no. 2376; Saheeh al-Jaami, 5620). For this reason the Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) urged Muslims to take just what is sufficient, without hoping for more, which could distract him from remembering Allaah. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: All that you need of wealth is a servant and a means of transportation to go out for the sake of Allaah. (Reported by Ahmad, 5/290; Saheeh al-Jaami, 2386). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) issued a warning to those who want to accumulate wealth, except for those who give in charity: Woe to those who want to accumulate wealth, except for the one who says with his wealth, Here! Here! Here! (i.e., giving it away) to one on his right, one on his left, one in front of him and one behind him, (reported by Ibn Maajah, no. 4129;Saheeh al-Jaami, 7137)  meaning all forms of charity.

Hoping for a long life. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know! [al-Hijr 15:3]. Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: What I fear for you is following your desires and hoping for a long life, for following ones desires makes a man ignore the truth, and hoping for a long life makes him forget the Hereafter. (Fath al-Baari, 11/236). Another report says: Four things are causes of doom: dry eyes (i.e., never weeping), a hard heart, hope for a long life and eagerness for this world. Hoping for a long life generates laziness in worship, procrastination, desire for the things of this world, neglect of the Hereafter and hardness of heart, because softness of heart and clarity of vision can only be achieved by remembering death, the grave, reward and punishment, and the horrors of the Day of Judgement, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): and the term was prolonged for them and their hearts were hardened [al-Hadeed 57:16]. It was said: Whoever does not hope for a long life will have less worries and his heart will be filled with light, because he calls death to mind and strives to obey Allaah (Fath al-Baari, 11/237)

Another cause of weak faith and hard-heartedness is eating too much, sleeping too much, staying up too late, talking too much and mixing with people too much. Eating too much makes the brain slow and the body heavy, which prevents a person from worshipping Allaah and makes it easy for Shaytaan to tempt him, as it was said: Whoever eats too much, drinks too much and sleeps too much, loses a great reward. Talking too much hardens the heart, and mixing too much with people stops a person from having time to be alone and reflect on his own state. Laughing too much drains life from the heart. The Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said in a saheeh hadeeth: Do not laugh too much, for excessive laughter deadens the heart. (Reported by Ibn Maajah, 4193; see also Saheeh al-Jaami). Time that is not filled with worship of Allaah also leads to hard-heartedness, as a person pays heed to neither the rebukes of the Quraan nor the advice of faith.

The causes of weak faith are many indeed, and it is impossible to list them all, but what we have listed above will give the reader an impression of others which we have not mentioned here. The wise person understands this innately. We ask Allaah to purify our hearts and protect us from the evil of our own selves.

Curing weak faith

Al-Haakim reported in al-Mustadrak, and al-Tabaraani reported inal-Mujam, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Faith wears out in the heart of any one of you just as clothes wear out, so ask Allaah to renew the faith in your hearts.(Reported by al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak, 1/4; see also al-Silsilat al-Saheehah, 1585. Al-Haythami said in Majma al-Zawaaid, 1/52, It was reported by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer and its isnaad is saheeh.) What he meant is that faith wears out in the heart just as clothes wear out and become old. The heart of the believer is sometimes overwhelmed by clouds of sin, and so it goes dark. This is the picture drawn for us by the Messenger of Allaah(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in the saheeh hadeeth: There is no heart that is not covered by a cloud like the cloud covering the moon when it is shining, and so it suddenly goes dark, but when it (the cloud) goes away, it shines again. (Reported by Abu Naeem in al-Hilyah, 2/196; al-Silsilat al-Saheehah, 2268). Sometimes the moon is covered by clouds, which conceal its light, but after a little while they go away, and the light of the moon comes back to light up the sky. In the same way, the heart of the believer is sometimes covered with dark clouds of sin, so its light is veiled, and the person finds himself lost in darkness, but when he strives to increase his eemaan and seeks the help of Allaah, that cloud goes away, and the light comes back to shine in his heart as before.

One of the most important principles which must be understood in order to treat the problem of weak faith is that faith increases and decreases, or waxes and wanes. This is one of the basic principles of the aqeedah of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaaah, who say that faith is something to be spoken in words, to be believed in in the heart, and to be put into action. Faith increases with obedience and decreases with disobedience. There is evidence for this in the Quraan and Sunnah, for example, Allaah says (interpretation of the meanings):  that they may grow more in Faith along with their (present) Faith [al-Fath 48:4] and  Which of you has had his faith increased by it? [al-Tawbah 9:124]. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever among you sees an evil action, let him change it by his hand (by action), and if he cannot, then by his tongue (by speaking out), and if he cannot, then by his heart (by feeling that it is wrong), and that is the weakest of faith. (Al-Bukhaari, Fath, 1/51).

The effects of obedience and sin, which increase and decrease faith respectively, are well known from observation and experience. If a person goes out walking in the market-place, where he looks at uncovered women wearing make-up, and hears the shouting and idle talk of the people, then he goes to the graveyard and stops to think and let his heart soften, he will see the difference between the two environments and how quickly his heart changes.

Another factor in this discussion is the words of one of the salaf: One of the signs of proper understanding is when a slave takes care of his eemaan, and pays attention to what decreases it, and knows when it increases and when it decreases, and recognizes the temptation of Shaytaan when he comes to him. (Sharh Nooniyah Ibn al-Qayyim by Ibn Eesa, 2/140).

It is important to know that if a decrease in faith leads to one neglecting ones duties or doing haraam deeds, this slackening is very serious and one must repent to Allaah and start to do something about it at once. If it does not lead to neglect of duties and doing haraam deeds, but just makes a person fall short in doing mustahabb (recommended) deeds, for example, then a person still needs to know how to sort himself out and correct himself until he returns to the proper level of energy and strength in worship. This is what we learn from the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), Every deed has energy and strength, and then this energy and strength is followed by a slackening, so whos slackening is in accordance to my Sunnah he will be fine, and whos slackening is to other than that [i.e., doing unlawful or forebidden deeds] he will be doomed. (Reported by Ahmad, 2/210; Saheeh al-Targheeb, no. 55).

Before we discuss how to treat the problem of weak faith, there is something we should note: many of those who feel that their hearts are hard look for an external solution, hoping that they can rely on others, even though it is within their reach if they want to take care of themselves by themselves. This is how it should be done, because eemaan is the relationship between the slave and his Lord. Below, we will discuss a number of ways prescribed by Islam by means of which the Muslim can deal with his weakness of faith and hardness of heart, after he puts his trust in Allaah and resigns himself to the fact that he faces a struggle to achieve his goal:

Pondering the meanings of the Quraan, which Allaah has revealed to explain everything and as a Light by which He guides whomever He wills of His slaves. There is no doubt that it contains a powerful and effective cure. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): And We send down from the Quraan that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe [al-Isra 17:82]. The method of treatment is to think and ponder its meanings.

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to ponder the meanings of the Book of Allaah and recite it when he stood in prayer at night (qiyaam al-layl). On one occasion, he stood in prayer at night and recited one single aayah from the Book of Allaah whilst he was praying, and he did not go any further than that (one aayah) until morning. The aayah in question was (interpretation of the meaning): If You punish them, they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, verily You, only You, are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. [al-Maaidah 5:118]. (Reported by Ahmad, 4/149; see also Sifat al-Salaah by al-Albaani, p. 102).

He (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to ponder the meaning of the Quraan, to the greatest extent. Ibn Hibbaan reported in his Saheeh with a jayyid isnaad from Ataarah, who said: Ubayd-Allaah ibn Umayr and I entered upon Aaishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) and Ubayd-Allaah ibn Umayr said: Tell us of the most wonderful thing you saw on the part of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). She wept and said, He got up one night (to pray) and said, O Aaishah, leave me to worship my Lord. I said, By Allaah, I love to be near you, and I love what makes you happy. He got up, purified himself and stood up to pray, and he kept weeping until his lap got wet, then he wept and kept weeping until the ground got wet. Bilaal came to call the adhaan for him, and when he saw him weeping, he said, O Messenger of Allaah, are you weeping when Allaah has forgiven all of your sins, past and future? He said, Should I not be a thankful slave? This night some aayaat have been revealed to me, woe to the one who reads them and does not think (about their meaning). Among them is (interpretation of the meaning): Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding, those who remember Allaah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth [Aal Imraan 3:190-191]. (Al-Silsilat al-Saheehah, 1/106). This indicates that it is obligatory to ponder the meaning of these aayaat.

The Quraan speaks of Tawheed, and contains promises of reward, threats of punishment, rules and regulations, reports, stories, etiquette and good morals, and its effects on the heart are various. Some soorahs fill the heart with fear more than others, as is indicated by the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), (Soorat) Hood and it

We have also checked this hadees as well now so now no can not refuse this hadees as well all these ahadees tell us that now no Nabi aur Rasool will come we should give a thought tht is this why ALLAH almighty hav stoped sending messengers there should be sum logic behind this when I was thinking on this line I saw these ayats of quran kareem which clear all my doubts tht y there is no need of any Nabi aur Rasool let us see those ayats now

Why there is no need of a messenger left now

(??)?

Surah maida ayat number 4

Now when we see this ayat we came to know that islam is a complete religion now no amendment is required then why ALLAh will sent a messenger because Almight have always sent messenger because people have done fabrication in the deen they got. So it was necessary to send a messenger so he can puify the deen again and if some addition is required do tht as well but now as ALLAh have said that deen islam is completed so there is no need of any addition one can say ALLAh will send messenger to remove fabrication from deen islam but if he says so then what will be his answer to these words of Almighty ALLAH

?????? ?????? ?????????? ????????? ???????? ???? ???????????? ??

?? ?? ??? ????? ?? ?? ????? ??? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?????? ??? ?

Surah hijar ayat number 9

So there is no need to sent any messenger as ALLAh almighty have taken this responsibility in his hands let us see this ayat as well

Surah saf ayat number 9

The above ayat shows that ALLAh have given islam ghalba on all the adian do y a new religion will cum aur a new messenger will come I am unable to understand this as well

Then a misconception is created in people minds that a huge amount of time has pass away so people have added many biddats in the deen so it was necessary that a prophit comes and correct all the additions its sound good until you go through this hadees

In this way ages passed by and times rolled on fathers passed away while sons took their places till Allah deputised Muhammmad (peace be upon him and his progeny) as His Prophet in fulfilment of His promise and in completion of His Prophethood.

Now I would like to cite one of the most famous Hadith that is a big proof of Khatm-e-Nabuwat….
.
.
It is known as Hadees-e-Manzilat which goes as:
.
.
??? ?? ?????? ????? ?? ???? ??? ??? ?? ??? ????
.
Prophet [s] said to Ali: ”You are to me as Harun was to Musa, except there is no Prophet after me”
.
There are plenty of sources for it both Shia and Sunni. However, this thread is specifically for Shias therefore, I would only cite Shia sources for it..
.
.
There is a long tradition from Imam Ali Raza (Alaihas Salaam), so I would like to cite only a part of it:
.
.
????? ??????? : ??????? (??? ????? ???? ???? ) ????? ?? ????? ?? ??? ?????? ??? ???? ????? ?? ???? ??????? ?????? , ???? : ?? ???? ????? , ???? ???? ???????? ????? ): ??? ???? ??????? ???????? , ???? ????? ???? ??????? ??? ???????? ???? ???? (???? ?????? ): ??? ??? ?????? ????? ?? ???? .
.
(The fourth point) Prohpet (Sallallu Alaihi Wa Alihi Was Sallam) excluded every one from Masjid apart from his Etrat. Due to which, people said some negative things about it. Abbas (uncle of Prohpet) said: O Prohpet of Allah! Why have u excluded and removed us from Masjid. However, you have not done the same with your Etrat (Ahle Bayt). The Prohpet answered that I haven’t excluded and removed you. It is Allah that has done so. (Then Prohpet said) said to Ali (Alahis Salaam): ”You are to me as Harun was to Musa, except there is no Prophet after me”

Sheikh Suduq was a person of great respect, with the kunyat of Abu Jafar, he was highly praised, Hafidh of many hadiths, he had good knowledge about the narrators. I ‘ve seen no one from Qum like him in terms of memory and bulk of knowledge.

Note: I don’t want to give detail about Sheikh Suduq (ar) because everyone knows that he is a Shining star of Maktab-e-Ahle Bayt(as)

(After listening them) Prohpet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa alihi Was Sallam) kept silent for a while and then said: “I am the greatest among the children of Adam (as), I am the seal of Prohpet, I am the Imam of God fearing people and I am the Prohpet from the Lord of universe.

(Chain) Imam Baqar (as) said that when the time of death of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa alihi Was Sallam) came close then Jibrael (as) descended and asked: “O Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa alihi Was Sallam) ! Do you have the desire go to this world again?” Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa alihi Was Sallam) replied: “No! I have conveyed the message of my Lord to them.” Jibrael (as) then asked the same thing on which Prohpet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa alihi Was Sallam) replied: “No! I have the desire to meet my Lord.” After that Prohpet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa alihi Was Sallam) said whilst many muslims were there: “O People! Verily there is no Prohpet after me, After my Sunnah there will be no Sunnah. Therefore, if anyone claims this (Prohpethood), and declares my Sunnat as innovation then he will go to hell. O People! Kill that person (that commits this crime), and anyone that followes him will also go to hell.”

Any Nabi (as) that came after Jesus (as), they all took the laws (Shariat) and Manhaj from Essa (as). However, when Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa alihi Was Sallam) came then Quran (the book), Shari’at and Manhaj was given to him. Therefore, any thing that is permissible in it is permissible till Qayamat, and anything that is not permissible is not allowed till Qayamat.

Allama Majlisi (ar) declared it “Mu’ath’thaq” (authenticated) in Miratul Uqool, Vol no 7, pg no 98.
.
Allama Behbudi (ar) declared it “Sahih” in Sahih Al Kafi, Vol no 1, pg no 67.

Comments: se Imam Sadiq (as) didn’t mention any Nabi that would continue the Shari’at of Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa alihi Was Sallam). Moreover, the phrase any thing that is permissible in it is permissible till Qayamat, and anything that is not permissible is not allowed till Qayamat also shows that there will be no Prohpet after Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa alihi Was Sallam).

This is the short piece of research carried out by me to prove Khatme Nabuwat in the light of Aqwaal-e-Masoomeen(as) specifically because we all know the Ayats of Quran speaking about it. Moreover, I didn’t cite the work of scholars of Maktab-e-Ahle bayt (As) because this thing is unanimous among Shias, so there is no need to cite it.

If anyone wants the saying of scholars then I can do that for them, but saying of Masoomeen(as) itself leaves no room to disdain this critical belief…

I think I have covered all the aspects of this issue and there should not be any problem left now the above article proves that Rasool kareem was the last among the Rasools and as well as the Anbia and he was the seal of messenger if any one now claims that he is a messenger of Almighty Allah is a kazab and dajal according to this hadees of Rasool kareem
